We always anxiously await what Beck comes up with for his birthday theme each year....This year it was science, and specifically, chemistry! He's been very into experiments and chemicals and all things science for a while now, so it was a perfect choice! He also wanted a pool involved, so our sweet friends offered to let us have the party in their backyard and use their pool.
He also requested cinnamon rolls for his "cake." The kids and I made homemade cinnamon rolls and we used frosting to write the elements to make a "cinnamon roll periodic table" for his little family party!
As always, Daddy came through with a pinata! He made Beck a super-cool Erlenmeyer flask pinata!
We found the perfect shirt for him to wear to his party! And yes, he can explain the equation if you ask him!
We stretch out the "making" for our parties for a couple weeks and the kids help with (most) everything. As Quinn likes to say about me, "Mom has to make EVERYTHING into a learning experience." Parties are no exception. ;)
Beck requested hotdogs and a huge watermelon and chips for the meal! And rootbeer!!
Lovebug and Daddy (The Amazing Dr.'s Matt) put on a science show with awesome experiments! All the kids were totally captivated!
For decorations we used mostly everything we already had...frames from my house with "sciency" photos of Beck in them, some of Beck's science books, tablecloths from my stash....
Matt and I made a periodic table backdrop. I printed out elements to make "Beck is 7" using elements.
It was a fun night celebrating our sciency boy!!!
