"Wasted Utopia" is the latest album from Obfusc.
"There's something of a double meaning in the title 'Wasted Utopia.' On the one hand, it evokes the utter hopelessness of the now, the squandering of our planetary resources, terrifying political situations at home and abroad, the mundane-but-crushing weight of personal struggles with depression and anxiety. On the other, it captures the way many of us cope, a self-medicated state increasingly necessary to face a dire reality without losing one's bearings. The music also speaks to these notions, conjuring imagery of deserted parking lots and scorched earth while simultaneously working as a salve in the face of such horrors." – Dustin Krcatovich (Ypsilanti, Michigan)
