ABOUT US
The vision of the New England Association of Teachers of English is to promote networking and shared learning among English Language Arts and literacy professionals from pre-k to college. NEATE strives to represent and celebrate a broad range of perspectives. We work to amplify historically underrepresented voices and engage in advocacy in the active pursuit of justice and equity for students and educators. In order to support, nurture and sustain literacy educators, and promote literacy as a tool of agency and democracy, we provide a forum and brave space for sharing successes, concerns, and high quality resources. Our mission is to promote the support, development and shared learning of literacy and English Language Arts Educators to foster equity and democracy. We embrace, celebrate and amplify the value of language and literacy as essential tools for empathy and agency.
