Nappturology 101

I've been a loose nappy now for about eight years. Wearing microbraids for the first four years did nothing but delay my learning about how to care for, style and fully embracing my natural hair.

It wasn't until I was forced by circumstance to come out of the cover up that I discoverd a whole new perspective on the stuff growing out of my head.

Through experimentation with product and styles and shear determination to learn what to do my hair, I eventually got to where I am today. As a result, I'm a big fan of changing up on a regular basis in the early days of your natural journey. As long as you're careful with your hair and don't do anything drastic, it's the only way you'll get to know your hair really well, it's likes, dislikes and your own personal preference.

It is what it is and you may as well learn from it and enjoy it. That's exactly what I've been doing for the past four years. My only regret is that I missed out of the first four years wearing long synthetic hair.

But once I let that go, I wasted no time getting to know my hair and now, I'm glad I did.
