I think it would be a good idea to have a business that pays you to sleep.
It would be great if there were a place you could go to either be payed to sleep or have incentives like a discounted membership.
Think gym membership, except instead of working out you go there to sleep or rest.
I think there are businesses that are doing this and I really think it’s a great idea.
Some people are professional sleepers–they are really good at it.
Why not give them a job doing something there are really good at it?
I think it would be good to incentivize people to rest.
If more people were restful, they’d be more productive when they are awake.
Why not pay your employers to get some needed rest or sleep so that they’re more productive when they are awake.
I really think society as a whole will profit when we invest in sleep.
There will be less crime, violence and accidents.
Most crimes and accidents come from people whose minds aren’t operating at optimal levels.
A lot of this is due to lack of rest or sleep or drugs to cover up the lack thereof.
It would be great if we had sleep professionals who could give people advice so they may have more restful sleeps. I think there are, but I’d like to see this occupation to grow. So, sleep stations may be a ubiquitous as massage parlors.
My dad always told me you’re really good when you’re asleep.
Spiritual implications.
Solomon said the Lord gives his beloved rest.
Solomon said two hands full of rest are better than much toil.
It’s time cities known as cities who never sleep start investing in sleep. Society as a whole will benefit by more rest and sleep. Much of this is a spiritual issue. We need to stop worrying and striving. The Spirit of the World tries to drive us and say more is never enough. This is opposite of the rest the Lord wants to give us. Rest comes from trust. True rest cannot come unless we trust the Lord.
A city that prays is a city that can rest, because that city will be trusting in the Lord and not in their own ability.
All work should flow out of as spiritual core where Christ is first, center, above, and over all. Work should flow from trust that God is hidden in all things, delving to uncover the source of Life with an eye to companionship that comes from Christ.
Psalm 127
A song of ascents. Of Solomon.
1Unless the Lord builds the house,
the builders labor in vain.
Unless the Lord watches over the city,
the guards stand watch in vain.
2In vain you rise early
and stay up late,
toiling for food to eat—
for he grants sleep toa those he loves.
3Children are a heritage from the Lord,
offspring a reward from him.
4Like arrows in the hands of a warrior
are children born in one’s youth.
5Blessed is the man
whose quiver is full of them.
They will not be put to shame
when they contend with their opponents in court.
Ecclesiastes 4:2 Wherefore I praised the dead that have been long dead more than the living that are yet alive; 3yea, better than them both [did I esteem] him that hath not yet been, who hath not seen the evil work that is done under the sun. 4 Then I saw all labor and every skilful work, that for this a man is envied of his neighbor. This also is vanity and a striving after wind. 5 The fool foldeth his hands together, and eateth his own flesh. 6 Better is a handful, with quietness, than two handfuls with labor and striving after wind. 7 Then I returned and saw vanity under the sun. 8 There is one that is alone, and he hath not a second; yea, he hath neither son nor brother; yet is there no end of all his labor, neither are his eyes satisfied with riches. For whom then, [saith he], do I labor, and deprive my soul of good? This also is vanity, yea, it is a sore travail. 9 Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. 10 For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him that is alone when he falleth, and hath not another to lift him up. 11 Again, if two lie together, then they have warmth; but how can one be warm [alone]? 12 And if a man prevail against him that is alone, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.
