he is growing up so fast.   Today I realized that my baby is turning into a fine young man.

Today my baby took his test to get his drivers permit.  Oh I was so nervous for him.  As I watched him go up to the counter and state what he wanted, as he got his test and went to take it, I realized that I couldn’t make everything okay for him.  Pass or fail, he had to stand on his own two feet.  I couldn’t take the test for him. 

As I stood there watching him, I thought, Oh God, please keep my baby safe and I just started to pray for him.  I also realized that he didn’t need me to hold his hand anymore.   Thankfully we have a very close relationship so I know he still needs his mom.  He tells me that even though he doesn’t need me to bathe him or brush his teeth or many other tasks and even making some decisions, that he will always need me to be his mom.   And he knows where to go for advice. 

Oh by the way–starting tomorrow at 1:00PM, watch out because my “baby” will be taking his 1st behind the wheel drivers training.  YES–he passed with flying colors.  Isn’t it funny the things God uses to open our eyes.  Or even just to be thankful.
