To blacklist modules in Ubuntu, edit the blacklist file:

Ubuntu users type this command in a terminal window:

gksudo gedit /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist

Kubuntu users type this command in a terminal window:

kdesudo kate /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist

Add the modules you’d like to blacklist to the end of the file.

Save the file and close it.

Obligatory Happy Ending
