Edit sources.list

To edit the repository list (the sources.list file):

1. Open a terminal window.
2. Open the sources.list file in a text editor:

• KDE users type this command in a terminal window:

kdesudo kate /etc/apt/sources.list

• GNOME users type this command in a terminal window:

gksudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list

3. Make the changes you’d like.
4. Save the file.
5. Exit the editor.
6. Type this command in the terminal window to update your package list with the new sources:

sudo apt-get update
