Michelle Kogan is an artist, writer, poet, and instructor, creating colorful figure, flora and fauna paintings, poems and children’s stories. Her writing and art also focus on social justice for all creatures. The paintings often include urban settings and have a sensitivity to endangered species and the environment. She is an instructor at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, the Evanston Art Center, an at Wright College. She offers classes in Color Theory, Figure Drawing and Painting, Watercolor, , Pen and Ink and Watercolor, Art Appreciation, and Plein Air classes and Workshops at nature venues in the Chicago area including, the Lincoln Park Conservatory, Lurie Gardens in Millennium Park, and around the garden areas of the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum.
