Lecture Notes: Learning in Games and Games in Learning.
This will be a mathematical course focusing on the interplay between game theory and machine learning. We will study both how to think about strategic interactions through the lens of learning theory, as well as how game theoretic thinking can help us in designing new learning algorithms. We will focus on learning in adversarial and strategic environments. Students are expected to be mathematically mature. Evaluation will be based on a semester long research project, which should be undertaken with the ambition to reach (and advance) the research frontier.
