About Me
Labels: wife, mum, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, friend, librarian, nature-lover, Albertan, Canadian – OK that much was easy.
Then there’s: artist, photographer, writer, gardener, hiker, horse-back rider, skier (cross-country & downhill)…all implying some mastery of skills, a deceptive implication.
…. ‘Jack-of-All-Trades, Master-of-None’
That’s who I am.
I guess.
My name is Cindy Kilpatrick and I hope you enjoy my blog.

Thank you for sharing your blog! I enjoy finding blogs like these – I like reading the stories on how people chose to photograph their subjects, the little stories that go along with the scene, etc…. it really helps me with my attempts to teach myself more about photography. I have only become semi-serious about it in the past few months, but I am very quickly learning to love it!!
You are so welcome, Holly. I’m so glad you enjoyed it. I know just what you mean. The Internet has opened up so many possibilities for learning and connecting with other people who have similar interests. I’m just learning myself, but am totally addicted!
I, too, enjoyed looking at your photos. I am still learning even though I’ve been doing this for more years than I care to mention. Heck, I didn’t even know how to link my blog to my comments until today. Sometimes I think the photographic world is passing me by. I am old school, taking up photographic back in the film days. At least color had been invented by the time I started. 🙂
Thanks Bob. I’ve just become serious about photography in the last year and really serious since I got my first DSLR in October. I’ve forgotten more than I’ve learned, but I’ve learned so much thanks to the Internet. This blogging thing is still quite new to me, but I can see how it could become yet another addiction. 🙂
Hi Cindy,
I see that you got your blogroll figured out. Thanks a bunch for including mine. I appreciate it. Yes, I agree with you about this blogging thing. I’ve had mine about a year, but just recently got really into posting comments on other’s blogs, and I am having a blast. It is so much fun exchanging information and finding out about people from other places.
Bob
I did! But I don’t know where to stop – there are so many interesting blogs out here in cyberspace! 🙂 I learned about the advantages of interacting in the virtual world from Flickr. I’ve learned so much and been so inspired by others that it’s almost become an addition. I’m working at creating a balance.
I agree. It is difficult to know who to put on your blogroll. I, myself, screen the comments and I don’t use them if they don’t sound sincere, and are just looking for another link to advertise their own product or agenda.
At the moment, I’m just putting on the blogs I like. I do see that some folks really are out here to advertise, but I can’t say that I can tell by the comments…yet.
Oh, one more thing. I clicked on your direct e-mail link, but nothing happened, the link didn’t open. There may be something wrong there. I thought you’d like to know.
Thank you so much, Bob. I’ve tried to fix it, but I’d really appreciate it if you’d check for me. I don’t think it’s the same if I link to it myself.
No, it still doesn’t work, at least on my end. Sorry!
Thank you for trying, Bob. I’ll figure it out one day!
The way I tell if the comments are from a sincere person, is to go to your dashboard, click on comments. Find the comment and the writer usually has hers or his URL there. I click on that and if it’s a commercial link, like someone selling gadgets, cars, insurance, etc. Then I know the person isn’t sincerely interested what I have to say.
P.S. The best way is to check them out when you have to approve or disapprove their comment.
You’ve just helped me to figure out what to do about a comment that landed in the ‘spam’ folder of my comments. It was a bit generic, but not obvious. After reading this, I clicked on the website and found out it was about sports! Not quite up my alley. Thank you so much!
Glad I could help, Cindy. I am no expert, I am just doing what I have learned from other bloggers. I may need help from you with some HDR somewhere down the line. By the way, how did you get that e-mail link over there, even it doesn’t seem to be working. I couldn find a Widget for it. I didn’t know how, so I just put a text box over there and added my e-mail addresses. At least, people can use them even though there is no link.
About the blogroll, I thinned out a few blog sites that I had earlier. I just had too many and some of them never posted anything. I guess mine is still a work in progress even though I’ve had it for a year. But it’s fun tinkering with it.
I put the email in with the links, but in its own category, but obviously didn’t do it right. I had originally done it as you have, but once I learned about the blogroll, I thought it might be better. Not so, I guess. I still haven’t done anything about it – as you say, the address is still there if anyone wants to contact me. One day I’ll get around to reading some more how-to’s. It is fun tinkering with this blogging thing, isn’t it? Too much fun sometimes! (There really are other things I should be doing. 🙂
I’m sorry. I thought you had mentioned that you had a Canon Rebel. I must of read of someone else. I don’t know much about your Nikon. But I do know Nikons and Canons are pretty equal, quality wise.
Bob
No worries, Bob! I tend to confuse things in person, cyberspace makes keeping things straight that much harder.
I love your writing. I feel like I’m reading your memoir. You should publish it with your photos.
I suppose it is memoir-ish in a way. I hadn’t thought about it like that, but the past does seem to creep into the present quite often, doesn’t it? Thank you so much for your support and encouragement, Martina. I appreciate it very much.
Missusk aka my Sista – yer a pretty amazing woman. You have talent out the yingyang. You are a very carying, compasionate loving beautiful person whom I feel honoured to have as a sister, I love you 🙂
Love you too, Bro and not just because you’re such an amazing flatterer. 🙂
Your pictures are lovely. I fire enamels in a kiln and your images cause me to feel like going to my workshop – but it is late here in Yorkshire and it will have to be another day.
best wishes
Harry
What a wonderful compliment, Harry! The thought that my pictures could inspire you, is deeply gratifying. Thank you so very much!
All the best,
Cindy
Thank you, Cindy. I enjoy visiting your blog, inspired by your photographs, and more.

I found the photo of the abandoned house captivating. The colours in your images are impressive. Passed an enjoyable moment looking through your work. Thank you
