About me
I’m a final-year Ph.D. student in Computer Science and Engineering at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, supervised by Professor Yangqiu Song. Previously, I was twice an Applied Scientist intern at Amazon in Palo Alto, at the Stores Foundational AI team and the Search Experience Science team, mentored by Dr. Xin Liu, Dr. Qingyu Yin, Dr. Limeng Cui, and Dr. Chen Luo. I was also a visiting Ph.D. student at Johns Hopkins University, supervised by Prof. Daniel Khashabi. I received my bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Mathematics from HKUST in 2022 and am currently funded by the HKPFS award.

Research Interest
I’m mainly interested in the research of large language models. Currently, I’m working on:
- Advanced Sampling and On-policy Augmentation Recipe for more Efficient and Stabilized Reinforcement Learning with Large Language Models HeaPA.
- Unlocking Creative and Generalizable System II Reasoning within LLMs through conceptualization (🐈, 🚗, 🕯️) and metaphysical reasoning (🪐) to enable reasoning in novel situations beyond intuition and pattern matching
- Human Behavior Understanding and Intention Modeling with Large Foundation Models in E-Commerce (FolkScope, IntentionQA, MIND, 📜) and Social Media (MIKO), focusing on agent-level comprehension and prediction of human goals and intentions
- Scientific Knowledge Exploration via Large Language Models, studying their role in organizing, summarizing, and discovering scientific knowledge (arXiv2Table, Science Hierarchography, ClaimCheck)
