Because of the birth,
Of baby Jesus,
Immanuel—
God is with us.

Creation rejoices,
Heaven and nature sings,
For what God has done,
For all He will bring.

There is something more,
Beyond what we can see,
Beyond what we imagine,
Beyond what is to be.

The star that was seen,
Led hearts to the King,
And we are joyful,
As the New Year rings.

We see with eyes of faith,
Praising the Lord,
Stepping ahead,
Renewed and restored.

🌟 A Holiday Poem on Forgiveness

Why is it so hard to forgive,
When memories linger, sharp as a sieve?
The holidays draw us near once more,
Yet some hearts stay closed, some wounds still sore.

Families gather, tables spread wide,
But shadows of words may still divide.
Estranged by echoes of things once said,
We carry the past like stones of lead.

Genesis speaks of Joseph’s grace,
His father’s burial, a solemn place.
Returning to Egypt, his brothers feared—
Would vengeance strike for the pain they’d seared?

But Joseph chose a gentler way,
Explaining how God had shaped that day.
What men had meant for harm and despair,
God turned to life, provision, and care.

He blessed his brothers, calmed their dread,
Promised their families would be fed.
Compassion ruled where revenge could reign,
Gentleness healed what anger had slain.

So let us strive when wronged or bruised,
To see how God’s hand may be used.
Forgiveness frees, resentment binds,
Love restores and renews our minds.

What holds us back is the weight we keep,
Past discomforts that cut too deep.
Yet kindness given returns again,
A smile received when a smile is sent.

Life throws curve balls, storms may rise,
But hope lifts hearts toward paradise.
Someday with the Lord, all pain will cease,
And joy will crown us with perfect peace.

So this day with God, let mercy flow,
Give kindness freely, let gentleness show.
For what we sow in love will grow—
Forgive, and watch His blessings overflow.

Poetry has a unique power to extract profound truths into a few potent words, crystallizing our thoughts and stirring the heart and soul. It speaks where text falters, reaching into the spiritual core of our being. As we reflect on the lessons of Obadiah, may we  walk in the light of Truth, following the footsteps of Jesus— letting the verses below inspire us to step boldly into a victorious future, fortified by faith and the clarity that poetry can provide.

Living Stones

Stone stands firm through wind and flame,
A witness carved in time’s own name.
Like truth that echoes through the Word,
Unshaken by the battles stirred.

God’s voice, a timeless, guiding light,
Still speaks through ages, bold and bright.
Each verse—a stone, each line—a wall,
To help the weary stand, not fall.

From weathered past, a blueprint drawn,
To build anew where hope seemed gone.
Transformed, renewed, the broken rise,
With mercy shining in their eyes.

Enemies once torn apart,
Now labor with a softened heart.
Restored by grace, they work as one,
Beneath the cross, beneath the Son.

Humility and peace now grow,
Where pride once laid the spirit low.
Justice walks with gentle pace,
Led by compassion, truth, and grace.

So, step with courage, hand in hand,
Rebuild the ruins, heal the land.
For Christ, the Way, the Truth, the Life,
Still leads us through the storm and strife.

Living stones, we rise and stand,
Firm in faith, by His command.
A holy house, forever sure—
Built on love that shall endure.

Poetry has a unique power to extract profound truths into a few potent words, crystallizing our thoughts and stirring the heart and soul. It speaks where text falters, reaching into the spiritual core of our being. As we reflect on the lessons of Habakkuk 3, we are reminded that faith in our God gives us confidence when faced with the impossible because we have the kind of faith that moves mountains.

God of Possible

A prayer we lift, both deep and wide,
Of vision clear and faith applied.
We praise You, Lord, with hearts aglow,
For what You do that we don’t know.

Behind the scenes, Your hand is near,
Unseen, yet working year by year.
Our faith unlocks what eyes can’t see—
The doors You open silently.

We start today with something small,
A whispered hope, a humble call.
A seed we plant in quiet trust,
Believing You are good and just.

For harvest waits beyond the now,
And You, O Lord, will show us how.
You multiply each faithful deed,
Transforming lack into full seed.

Our small obedience, day by day,
Becomes a part of heaven’s way.
So we keep walking, keep the flame,
Believing still in Jesus’ name.

You make things happen, shift the tide,
With power no fear can override.
You are the God who parts the sea,
Who makes the blind and broken see.

We’re confident in what’s ahead,
Because You raise what once seemed dead.
Impossible? Not in Your hand—
You move the mountains, shape the land.

So here we stand, in praise and awe,
Held by Your promise, love, and law.
A prayer of vision, bold and true—
Our future, Lord, begins with You.

Poetry has a unique power to extract profound truths into a few potent words, crystallizing our thoughts and stirring the heart and soul. It speaks where text falters, reaching into the spiritual core of our being. As we reflect on the lessons of Habakkuk 2:5–20, this poem emerges not just as a response, but as a symbol of hope — illuminating the path forward with conviction. Let its verses inspire us to rise from the ruins of past struggles and step boldly into a victorious future, fortified by faith and the clarity that poetry can provide.

 🛡 The Path That Builds

Destruction whispers through the land,
Greed and violence take their stand.
Empty hearts and selfish gain,
Leave behind a trail of pain.

No worship lifts the soul to light,
No moral compass guides what’s right.
But in the hush, when God is heard,
A path emerges from His Word.

It winds through valleys, climbs with grace,
Marked by kindness in each place.
Temperance steadies every stride,
Purpose walks close by its side.

Unselfish love begins to bloom,
Replacing shadows, clearing gloom.
This path does not destroy or harm,
It heals with truth, a holy balm.

Society receives a map,
Drawn not by man, but heaven’s lap.
Integrity becomes the way,
Truth and love its bright array.

Grace shapes each stone beneath our feet,
Where mercy and conviction meet.
And as God’s plan unfolds in time,
The future sings a hopeful rhyme.

It flourishes beyond the veil,
Where lies once tried to twist and fail.
For what deception sought to steal,
God redeems with love that heals.

Thanksgiving Victory https://mdshields.wordpress.com/2025/11/26/thanksgiving-victory-2/ https://mdshields.wordpress.com/2025/11/26/thanksgiving-victory-2/#comments Wed, 26 Nov 2025 23:00:00 +0000 https://mdshields.wordpress.com/?p=4533 Continue reading ]]>

Thanksgiving is a time,
For family and food,
A table spread wide
With an attitude—
Of gratitude.

Football games are viewed,
Cheers rise and fall,
Our favorite teams
May not win at all.
But one team does, it seems—
A mystery divine,
A victory unseen
By human design.

So be grateful,
Not just for pie or feast,
But for the grace
That never ceased.
For our Lord,
In mercy profound,
Brings final victory
Where love abounds.

Free from the demands
Of the written code,
He bore the weight
Of sin’s heavy load.
Because of the Cross,
A new Way is showed—
Not earned, but given,
Not forced, but flowed.

Accepting this new Way
That God has provided,
Hearts once scattered
Now stand united.
Doing the amazing,
Not by might or pride,
But by the Spirit
That dwells inside.

Thanksgiving is a time for family, lots of food, and football games. Our favorite teams don’t always win but being a part of God’s team always brings the final victory. All winning teams have a game plan. Let us be thankful that Jesus is God’s plan for us and by accepting Him as Savior; we have taken the steps necessary to make this Thanksgiving weekend with Him amazing!
