Hello, and thank you for stopping by my “about” page! I know it’s long overdue, but since I’m kind of redesigning, I figured I might as well add one.

Some things are self-evident, such as my name being Marla or the fact that I love the written word (this is a blog after all).

Anyone who has ever read my blog will vouch that I like words, and lots of them. It is not uncommon for me to offer long and winding responses to comments. It is all good (I think), because everyone that reads my blog seems to understand that my mind likes to meander, and that since I type extremely quickly, my responses tend to be just as random as my thoughts.

Another thing people who follow my blog could easily tell you: I LOVE challenges. I also truly enjoy mixing and matching them, whether they are word prompts, photo prompts, stylized prompts – it doesn’t matter. If you come across one of my challenge posts and you don’t see a daily challenge on there that you know about, please drop it in the comments section for that post. The more challenges the merrier, in my opinion!

I also have one living aunt that I adore dearly. At the time of writing this (2022), she just turned 82. Every day she receives the morning newspaper, and every day there is a cryptogram which she solves to remain “sharp.” After she solves it, she texts me the result. Since she’s 82 and refuses to acknowledge 99.9% of available technology, she asked me to post them on here because she loves the fact that people read and respond to them. Right after I started posting them, I read the five responses to her; she declared herself “internet famous,” and has stuck to her guns since. One day, due to a discussion, there were over 20 replies on her quote within a few hours, so she declared herself “an internet superstar.”

I am the oldest of three and I come from a gigantic extended family. I currently work 3 jobs, and I haven’t had a decent vacation in what feels like nine hundred and eighty two years (thanks COVID). I don’t do any other form of “social media” other than this blog.
