GENERAL

Q: Will there be a physical release for Lumines Arise?
A: We’re big fans of physical games and have made them available for our previous titles. We have no immediate plans at the moment, but we’d love to explore the possibility in the future.

Q: Will Lumines Arise be released to other gaming platforms besides PS5 and Steam?
A: We were entirely focused on the PS5 and Steam platform releases and have no plans to share at this time regarding other platforms.

Q: Does Lumines Arise support cross-platform multiplayer between PS5 and Steam?
A: Yes, there is cross-platform multiplayer support between the PS5 and Steam versions. There is an option to turn it off in Options > Game > Cross-Platform Play.

Q: Does the Steam version run on Steam Deck?
A: Yes, Lumines Arise is Steam Deck verified! We want to stay true to Lumines’ roots of being an excellent portable game. For the best experience while playing portably on Steam Deck, you may want to go into Options/Accessibility and change the Camera Distance (2D) to Near or Very Near and increase the Text Size to 120% for a more handheld-style Lumines experience.

Q: Where did the Lumines Arise Demo go?
A: As of November 11th, 2025, the Lumines Arise Demo is no longer available. You can purchase the full version of Lumines Arise here:

Q: Is PlayStation Plus required for PS5 online Multiplayer?
A: On PS5, a PlayStation Plus (PS+) membership is required to play the Burst Battle online multiplayer mode in the full game. Quick Burst and Leaderboard League modes in Multiplayer do not require a PS+ membership.

Q: Is there local multiplayer?
A: To join a local multiplayer match, walk to the Burst Battle door, select CREATE CUSTOM MATCH and change the room type to LOCAL. Choose 1 Player to play against the CPU, or 2 Players for local multiplayer.

Q: Is there a way to tone down the intensity of the graphics and gameplay?
A: In Options > Accessibility there are many ways to make the game more visually comfortable. See the full table of options in the Accessibility section of this guide.

Q: Why do Loomii avatars fly across the screen in Journey mode when BURST ends?
A: These Loomii are Journey travelers just like you. The larger the Burst, the more Loomii will pop out from it. Once you meet them, they join your Loomii and follow you as you progress on your own path.

Q: What is the Loomii number listed under the difficulty level in the Journey mode menu?
A: This shows the current total of all Loomii you’ve collected within a run of the selected difficulty in Journey mode. It’s also a gauge of how well you’ve done setting off big Bursts. Reset the number by pressing the button indicated on this screen to “Reset Loomii.”

Q: Can I unlock the Tetris Effect, Rez Infinite, HUMANITY, ASTRO BOT and Dave the Diver Avatars / Name Plates by playing Loomii-Pon?
A: The Tetris Effect, Rez Infinite, HUMANITY, ASTRO BOT (on PS5) and Dave the Diver (on Steam) Loomii Avatars and Name Plates are exclusive bonus items that come only with the Digital Deluxe Edition. Standard Edition owners can upgrade later by purchasing the Digital Deluxe Upgrade DLC.

Q: If I skipped the tutorial but want to see it again, where can I find it?
A: Go to Missions > Training 01 (Play the Tutorial).

Q: What languages does the game support?
A: English, Japanese, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Portuguese (Brazil), Chinese (simplified and traditional), and Korean.

VR MODE

Q: Does Lumines Arise support VR gameplay?
A: Lumines Arise includes optional support for VR on PlayStation 5 (PS VR2) and Steam (on supported headsets).
