Good luck with the condo process when that time comes. I’ve not had to sell but as a renter occupying a For Sale property been part of that long process twice and it was hell. Real estate people are … well, is evil too strong a word? Ha. A good agent is a find so my vast experience suggests starting there … doing due diligence to locate that rare gem. It will pay off in multitudes of ways that will help you shoulder that big burden. Good luck.

Seeing how my father (which we had cut contacts for over 20 years) left his affairs – His will was less updated when I was 6 years old and my parents had a messy divorce 10 years afterwards was a hard wake up to make up both my mum’s and my will were up to date. Right now, the only worry that I have will be how to sell her condo as I never dealt in real estate before but I’ll cross that bridge when we get there.

I hear you. Each of my parents (divorced) had very different exits but each had prepared fully with wills, documents, etc. Those were TREMENDOUS gift to all survivors. I advocate so strongly for that, the benefits are many, particularly in families that will & do destroy one another for $.

Hear ya also about the restaurants & indulgence. As a retired senior, I must watch my expenditures very closely so I choose wisely where I spend my “fun money.” Just can’t bring myself to pay restaurant food prices (plus I’m a good cook so can produce several good meals for price of a mediocre one). Craft beer is my passion, that’s & a need to socialize a little are what gets my fun money. Priorities priorities. 🙂

Thank you. I have to admit that while I did feel pretty raw for the few days after her passing, I think the fact that she left (more or less) on her terms soothed the pain. Finally got the death certificate by mail, so I’ll be able to move forward on that front.

I have to admit that I’m happy that this event is finally back as it gives me the “perfect” excuse to try out new places. It helps that I haven’t noticed as much a rise of the prices for this as opposed to other forms of entertainment. Have to admit, even the most middle-of-the-road restaurants feel like an indulgence.
