Renewals & Returns
Renewals: The Minuteman Library Network provides automatic renewals under the following conditions:
- no other holds were placed on the item,
- the item has not reached its maximum allowed renewals, and
- your card is not expired.
Items will automatically renew two days before the due date if the items are eligible at that time. You will get a courtesy email of which items have automatically renewed and which are due soon.
Returns: Lincoln Library materials may be returned to any Minuteman Library Network Member (MLN) and vice versa. Some items (such as Library of Things collection) must be returned to the owning library.
Interlibrary Loan Materials: Please see the Interlibrary Loan page for items outside of the Minuteman Library Network. These items have special circumstances and cannot be treated as regular Minuteman Library Network materials.
Fines
The Lincoln Public Library does not charge late fees on overdue materials with the following exceptions:
- Library of Things Collection (Fee: $1/day)
- Museum Passes (Fee: $1/day)
- Interlibrary Loans (Fee varies)
In order for an item to be eligible for fine free status, it must be checked out here at the Lincoln Public Library. A bill for the full replacement cost will be automatically generated by the Minuteman Network if an item is not returned 42 days after the due date. Once the item has been returned, any replacement fees will be waived.
Additional Services
Museum Passes: Returnable passes must be returned by the due date. Returnable passes include Davis Farmland, Garden in the Woods, Historic New England, Mass State Parks (DCR), Museum of Russian Icons, and New England Botanical Garden at Tower Hill.
If you lose a museum pass, please let us know as soon as possible. The museums may or may not provide the Library with a replacement. Replacement fees for lost museum passes will vary.
