Hello, my name is Michael August. I am a writer, focusing on social reflection and reform.
For some time I have thought on our way of life, the world about us, and how we may best live within it. But I will not get so far, or be so content, doing this alone, and so I hope to work alongside any who share this purpose. I have begun this blog because I do not yet know the people that may be my colleagues or they do not yet know me.
I call this the Dwelling to represent that place from which we take our thought and, in discourse, bring thought together. It is a nice idea that we are all meeting somewhere in these considerations, perhaps some warm and inviting home, and not just at a blog, even if this is truly nothing more than the common coursing of our individual minds. This title is also meant to underly that capacity which is so critical to who we are and the life we may have, being our intellect and wonder, leading to analysis and synthesis, in time.
My hope is that you, whoever you may be, and I may learn from each other and make gains in our discovery. I’m glad to have you. After getting your bearings and hanging up your hat, you’re welcome at the study, where much of the purposeful discussion may go on or the library, where the more meaningful media to us all are collected. In time more rooms may appear. For now, I wish you good day and perhaps we will talk later.
Thanks for the kind welcome Michael. I appreciate the insightful comments you left over at my blog. It was good for me to revisit those words and to reflect upon them again in light of your thoughts. Here’s to a fruitful discussion!
Hi. I am returning the courtesy of visiting, but I do not yet have any words to extend of greater meaning (than hi). I appreciate your words over at my blog, I do not know though, if there is a room that I would be suited to. I’m more of a pink plastic outlet plug-in night light, than a lamp of illumination pouring over texts and books of a study.
A home is best defined by the character of those who dwell within it. All of its art and architecture is not matched by the communication that we bring to one another, by our integrity, our passions, and our understanding. For this place, what matters is the need and desire for discourse, for all the ends that can be reached in this way. And I do welcome anybody.
This is one the most beautiful welcomes I’ve ever read/experienced. It is full of grace, and embraces in the most kind compassionate way. One feels included. Very beautiful.
I would be glad if this blog can fulfill even half of the praise that you give it, Robin.
