Below are some lessons/units I have taught in Math.
One of the units I have had a lot of fun with is financial literacy. For the students, it really ties in real-life concepts and I had students that were not doing well in math really engage in this unit. For this unit, I also asked the students ahead of time what questions they had on financial literacy so that I could try to incorporate/answer as many of them as I could while still tieing it into the curriculum. This unit was wrapped up with a large multiday budgeting project where students had to determine what they needed to live on their own and with a roommate for one month. They had a starting saving to be used on many move-in expenses. They also had a minimum wage job (current minimum wage in BC) and had to decide what they were going to spend money on.
