I’m a Democrat in Hall County. I’ve lived here for most of my life.
This blog is a personal hobby for me. It’s not my life, nor my income.
I have two friends. They post on here frequently as well.
As Democrats in the most conservative area in Georgia (maybe, the nation), don’t be surprised when we actively promote and volunteer for fellow Democrats. We don’t claim to be fair and balanced.
We want to win. But, we’re still pretty decent blokes.

I just moved to Buford. I am not a far left winger, but I do appreciate a good argument and flow of ideas.
If you’re around buford, perhaps i can buy you lunch one day.

Gray, if my comments ever get too caustic, just let me know.

Oh, I can do you one better: I’m a fairly liberal (with socially libertarian leanings) AND an ATHEIST in Hall County!! (FSM forbid!)
I raise my FIVE kids (see, breaking all those atheist/liberal stereotypes) as Unitarians/Humanists, and we’re all doing just fine.
However, I have had 5 Darwin Fish emblems ripped off my vehicle since moving here over 10 years ago (I keep spares in my glove compartment), but I don’t let that dissuade me.
So, you’re not alone. We’re a minority, but we have to be a VISIBLE minority to make a difference and wake up a mind!
Glad I found your site (on facebook)!

I also am glad to have found this site on facebook. I have only lived in Gainesville for about six years now and having come from a very liberal town out west it has been a real shocker for me. I have also had a darwin fish ripped off my car and was almost run off the road.
I try to fit in but it is hard. I am very accepting of people but they seem to have a problem with me. It would be nice to find a group of friends with mutual values.
I have sat accross the table at lunch with people who do not know my political affiliation and have had to take it on the chin many, many times. I had one person look me in the eye and say “I HATE democrats”. It is hard to swallow. I just smile and try to change the subject away from politics. I have even had my children’s school teachers make negative comments about democrats to my children…how does that make my children feel when they know their parents are democrats! People should stop and think.
I want to be the better person and just tell myself that they do not know any better and are terribly uninformed and try to not take it personally. Around here it seems that much of the conservative values are undoubtedly from their enculturation (mama said, and what mama said is right). I have found that many people have never even left town to be exposed to other values (not counting Panama City Beach). It has gotten easier with time, but still always challenging.

I’m a moderate, centrist that leans a little more to the right on most issues – maybe a tad left on others.
Anyway – I have a local website – we get some pretty good traffic – I’m gonna post this site in our directory.

This looks like a pretty good blog!

And yet another Liberal who won’t show his identity and instead blogs in private.
At least we can now blame the Dems for the Fall of the US.

So much animosity toward individuals you seem to have “labeled”. We all have faces, hearts and minds…families, friends and careers. You seem to harbor resentment which I didn’t personally cause and I’m sure none of these people caused either.
We may be people you like or even respect in real life.

Yet another liberal who blogs in private? I don’t owe you my name, nor do I owe you this blog.

Like the site. And to Amanda above: If you don’t like liberal opinions then why did you come to this site?

I think you are a coward not to tell who you really are. At least on my blog, at vote4fetterman.com, I tell you who I am.

votefetterman,
…And I think you’re an attention-whore for posting your website on this blog in hopes of attracting traffic. Don’t like it, don’t read it, bro.

LOL!
I saw this posting was popular and I just read it and the exchanges for the first time.
I’m not singling out Fetterman. Too easy. Not fun.
But that tired argument that bloggers need to supply DNA to the planet earth before expressing an opinion… Lame. Weak.
So the crazy guy that stands out in the park, shouting at the tops of his lungs, “It’s a conspiracy!” [or something] is the equal of a Fetterman?
Would you send our brave troops into combat wearing bright orange? A Fetterman would. It’s only fair? Isn’t that the nature of the lame argument. It’s not the camoflage that a Fetterman fears. A Fetterman fears facing criticism from any source.
Again, I’m just using the word Fetterman for my example. I don’t know Fetterman. It’s just a name. Anyone could build a website with the name Fetterman.
The very idea of Free Speech is to protect the small voice from suppression by the many.
Or a powerful few. Or even just one nut with a gun.

Hi there,
I am a “centrist” with mostly democratic principales, have enjoyed lectures on your site, but am wondering what is your stand about the Middle East and Israel in particular??
