It seems I’m a sucker for punishment, because I couldn’t give this up.  So, here we go for the new year.  Pictures to come for the first 2012 project completed.

K.I.S.S. was frequently told to me, or written on numerous papers. It’s still told to me now…

On that note, I think the time has come to retire the blog, not that its been getting a whole lot of attention. It isn’t fun anymore, and it’s just one more thing that is consitently falling off the to-do-list. I’ll still be on Ravelry and Facebook, but this site will be gone in about a month or so.

It’s time to simplify, pare down, and see what’s really underneath all the clutter.

The color is lovely (STR in a rare gems, possibly Jaberwoky).  The sock is lovely (Slant).

The combination with my particular foot… not so much.  Heel bags, foot is too long already and I haven’t even started the toe.  Really, the whole fit is off.

 Back to the drawing board.

I am human, so I am likely to err.  I got some news that an ex-friend has had her 3rd child and may be coming to a meeting I help to lead.  We haven’t talked in about 4 years, and I have to admit, our falling out was due quite a bit to me opening my mouth before thinking or listening. 

I don’t deal well with change, I’ll be the first to admit it.  There are a lot of changes going on with all of my volunteer lives and my family’s lives.  Lately I’ve been having friends tell me that I’m a good person.  I don’t feel like a “good” person.  I’ve opened my mouth too many times to my detriment. 

I’ve come to realize that I tend to say things when I’m trying to hide what I’m really feeling.  Most of the time that’s jealousy.  So, instead of beating myself up when I screw up, I’m working to “act” instead of “react” to situations.  It may be a very long work-in-progress…

Apparently the Oscars are not entertaining for the whole family…  However, we all thought he was entertaining in his cuteness.

It’s mid-Winter break here, and while it ends Sunday, it’s been crazy here.  I am stealing my camera and will post soon!

So, I am quickly realizing that my hubby is not being good about sharing the camera, and I’m just not getting good enough to get decent shots off of my cell cam, so you just get a joke from a friend today:

A blonde took her Jaguar to the garage because it was running rough. The mechanic looked under the hood and then he said, “Just crap in the carburetor.” The blonde said, “How often do I have to do that?”

For not being a “girlie-girl” growing up, I had an inornate love of My Little Pony.  I probably had about 10 of them, 2 of the stuffed ones, the castle, and the stable. 

Yes, I am an only child, why do you ask….;)

Anyway, I happened to be scanning MSN today and found this little odd spot.  I’m SO glad my ponies are my mother’s attic rather than in this stylist’s hands!

Here we have my mom’s pond last November.  It ices over in the winter.
