My parents had been married in a Methodist church but their faith was non- existent and they were non- church goers. By God’s miraculous grace I landed up on a Presbyterian camp at Rocky Valley in April 1968, over the Easter weekend. It was there that I experienced a radical transformation as the Holy Spirit entered my life. A special speaker, from the Assemblies of God church came to the camp and, as he laid his hands on my head my whole body experienced a kind of electric buzz. I cried for over an hour and, when I got up from my knees I realised that my whole life had changed. From being an introverted, depressed teenager, I became a light for Jesus, so in love with Him that I just wanted to spread His love to the whole world. That was more than 50 years ago, and I love Him even more now. He took me out of darkness into His glorious light. I became a teacher and ran a hugely successful Scripture Union group in a secular school on the West Rand. Then, in 1992, after much prayer, the Lord poured His Spirit out in that school and we experienced revival for approximately 10 years, with many teachers and students committing their lives to Christ. In 1992 I started an outreach group which we called J-Team using the performing arts to reach out to the lost. We travelled all over SA during a special tour week every year and ministered in schools, churches, homeless people and squatter camps and many souls came to Christ. In 1994 SABC aired our performance ‘Peace in our Land’ on national television which was significant, being the time Mandela took over. We showed through our performance that we can only find true peace through the Prince of Peace. Wherever the J-Team went lives were radically changed, thanks to the Holy Spirit using us as His vessels. My husband, who was led to Christ by Rodney (Roni) Mechanic ar Art School, has played an integral part in our ministry which the Lord then led us to bring to Australia. After 23 years of powerful ministry in schools in Australia, including putting on Esther at our massive CPAC auditorium in Cairns, we have finally retired, although we’re still active in ministry at our local church. Thanks to the obedience of people like Roni and Peter Eliastam, who had a huge impact at Art School, God has been truly glorified in South Africa and beyond. We are so so very grateful.

There are many Christians that are non denominational that are baptized, and born again through Jesus Christ, and believe all the directives here, BUT, using the uppercase, you are EXCLUDING… causing division in God’s Church, by only allowing Catholics.. UPPER CASE “C” , to think that is the Roman Catholic Church is the only way.

. I pray that as BIBLE BELIEVERS AND FOLLOWERS OF CHRIST, that we can get past the fact that the Roman Catholic Church is NOT the only way . It is Jesus Christ.. his death, burial and resurrection.. His redemption of sins . That saves us.. nothing we do… No ceremonies can save us.. because that would take away from His word. Through faith are ye saved and not of works, lest any man should boast.. can’t quite remember what scripture.. but I’m sure someone would know.

We can’t buy God’s favor, or say multiple prayers over and over, or have a man say your sins are forgiven. Only Jesus can forgive sins.. not even the wonderful mother of Jesus, He himself before He died would have said so.. “was My mother can now forgive all your sins while I am away” There are many scriptures where we are told men will be given power through their faith to heal others that believe.. according to His will…but no one has the power but the Living God to redeem sinners.

I pray God grant you that perfect peace that passeth understanding.

It was exciting, stimulating, eye-opening. One incident which I have never forgotten and has defined for me the meaning of ‘servant ministry’ was slipping out to the toilet during plenary sessions. Who should I meet there but my bishop, Freddy Amoore, sleeves of his purple shirt rolled up, dog collar in place, mop in hand as he cleaned!
