A Christmas Eve mini-session with Grandma was the perfect way to open the holiday festivities and make sure family memories are held for a long, long time. Thanks for inviting me into your home D family.

Its a-typical weather here in Ottawa this December. We have no snow, the temperature hovers around 5 degrees and its wet. In fact its very like an English winter. I miss the snow a little (the kids miss it alot..) but I don’t hate this. Its comfortable and familiar I guess. The one draw back is that I keep trying to take the boys out for a quick photo session to get pics for our post- festivities thank you cards and I keep getting rained out. Blah.

So here’s a session to put a little taste of warm days and sunshine back into your day. This is one of my late summer favourites from this year (do I say that every time…? ?)

With every session I shoot I make a new favourite set of images. I really am in love with each gallery as it goes out to a family. So, here’s a new favourite. This set of images is so true to the experience I had of these children, and this fab family. We ran, played, threw leaves, got dirty knees… and not just the children – I’m right down there too 🙂 (Oh, and check out ‘The Thinker’ pose….how fun is this family? 🙂

We had our first year anniversary of Kate Settle Photography in September, at which point I was swamped in session, so didn’t get to mark the occasion. That said, what a great way to celebrate a birthday than surrounded by great people, doing what you love? Perfect.

So… I’d like you to meet some of the people that have made this first year such a great one….

Behind of posting once again 😦 But I’ve been shooting like a maniac and have met such wonderful families and got to play in this ridiculously warm fall weather, so no complaints here. My hard drive also took a major dive last week, but more about that later……

Here’s some from a mini-session a few weeks ago… I love a girl with personality..

My ‘spooky, spooky bat’ and mad scientist.. What a fun Halloween in our new village! We actually ran out of candy. First time ever. I even had to raid the Swedish Berries I had secretly kept back from the stash. The candy deficit was remedied when the boys (small and not so) came home with half a ton of sweeties.

How was your Halloween?

I’m SO behind on blog posts! This fantastic wedding is from the end of the summer (see..? behind…) Parts of this day were big firsts for me, and possibly firsts for the city of Ottawa. The Bride and Groom’s strong environmental ethic was foremost in the planning of the day, not least the mode of transport downtown to the reception…… Check out the images to see… 🙂

We are lucky to live in a place of abundance, and went in search of local food this weekend, to finish our Thanksgiving table. First stop Log Cabin Orchard, 5 minutes down a dirt road from our place……
