We're BACK!!! It was about six years ago that I fell in love with My Gym with Whitney's first "Waddlers class, and now I'm here watching both my kids in the same class. They are SO excited!! (....and so am I!!!!)

When you love all things Star Wars as much as this guy, you get to spends stormy, rainy May the Fourth at home with mommy, watching the new Lego Star Wars episodes followed by the Star Wars movie of your choice. First, Return of the Jedi.
Setting: playroom as the end of The Empire Strikes Back plays on TV. I've been on the bike in the other room for the last 45 minutes.
"Hey, Grady, I see Leia and Luke and Chewie and Lando. Where's Han??"
"Oh, he's just frozen in carbonite. Leia will get him out in da next episode. Don't worry."

Happy Mommy Tears! So grateful for Grady's school, his teachers, his sweet classmates, and their awesome mommies! A fantastic way to kick off Mother's Day weekend!
Daddy has a business dinner so I get these two all to myself! A yummy dinner of their choice (pasta & meatballs), followed by a few chapters in "Finding Dory", and one very excited little boy who (legit) won the first round of "Super Why"! Now some "Eye Found It" and books and bedtime! Is it summer yet?!? I'm ready!!
I might be biased, but I'm pretty sure we have the best kids. Ever. In the history of forever. Done cleaning up the kitchen and as I turned the kitchen sink off, I heard sweet giggles. Listened closer and found this cuteness.
May 6th
Grady wanted to go find Dory and see alligators at "the aminal zoo" today, so we enjoyed a gorgeous stroll around the zoo with Miss Sarah and sweet Stella!
Told the kids I was going out front to pull weeds. Whitney, exasperated, "(gasp!!) But! It's Mother's Day weekend!!! You're not supposed to do ANYTHING! You can't work! You're not supposed to!"
I dont know who taught her that, but I owe them a high five and a hug!
.....still pulling weeds. But I get to watch my happy kids ride bikes and be silly on the most beautiful Florida day I've ever seen! Way better than "no work"

This kid. I never want to forget that he says things like "tomorrow" and "tonight" and "tolater". As in:
"Mommy, can we go in the pool tonight?"
"Not tonight, Buddy.."
"How about tomorrow?"
"For sure tomorrow!"
"How about to-later?"
"Nope. Not later, Dude. Tomorrows your best bet."
"Ok. Is it tomorrow yet?"
"Not yet."
"Is it to-later yet??"

Surprise, Kids!!!
A successful first visit to Legoland! Grady didn't want to leave, and Whitney is already planning what she wants to do first the next time we visit! Next time we'll tackle the water park!
GBass in bed asking when we can go back to Legoland. Whitney and Faith doing what besties do. These awesome dads playing cards at my kitchen table. And the commentary about my TV selections is hilarious (y'all. I'm *this* close to buying the TimeLife 38-disc Best of the Golden Oldies from the infomercial!! And now "Overboard" for a different kinda throwback.). Happy Mothers Day Eve to me

Happy Mothers Day! I am so blessed to have the best mom in the world and the best kids ever! Lynne Svoboda, thank you for teaching me how to never give up, how to use my voice, and how to cook pot roast in the pressure cooker. I'm so grateful for you and for our friendship! Thank you for always answering your phone when I call, regardless of what time of day or night. You're my best friend and love that God made me your daughter.
Worth the wait. Hardest and most rewarding job on Earth. So grateful everyday.

At risk of sounding superrrrr cheesy, I still gotta say, in all sincerity, that Eric Bass makes every day feel like Mother's Day. My job as mommy would be a million times more difficult if I didn't have him by my side. This Mother's Day, we went to an awesome service at church. Then we ran errands at BJs and Walmart with the kids. We cleaned the house and porch, prepped the food, and enjoyed some pool time with the kids. Then Eric grilled delicious burgers for me, the kids, and my parents. It was a treat to have my parents here, as we usually go to their house, but other than that, our weekend was not entirely out of our ordinary. We are super blessed and I'm incredibly grateful for the life I get to live as a mommy to two awesome kids. Teamwork makes this dream work. So this Mother's Day, I'm happy and grateful. And super proud to be his wife. Because I wouldn't be the mother I am without his constant help, healthy arguments, unending support, grilling talents, balance, and comic relief.
