Kanye West took out an ad in the Monday (January 26) issue of The Wall Street Journal, where he addressed those he has hurt.
If you don’t know, the 48-year-old rapper has made antisemitic statements in public in recent years, and as recently as 2025 was selling swastika t-shirts.
In an open letter, he revealed, “Some of the people I love the most, I treated the worst,” addressing his bipolar diagnosis and what was missed over the years.
He shared, “I regret and am deeply mortified by my actions in that state, and am committed to accountability, treatment, and meaningful change. It does not excuse what I did though. I am not a Nazi or an antisemite. I love Jewish people.”
He added, “To the black community – which held me down through all of the highs and lows and the darkest of times. The black community is, unquestionably, the foundation of who I am. I am so sorry to have let you down. I love us.”
