Dearest Sophie ~ My deepest apologies for my delayed response to your heartfelt questions. I do not mind your asking in light of your own half sister’s first family search. I was adopted when I was one year of age and was born in 1957. I do not really know what city or village in Korea I was born nor anything at all about my first family. I began my search over 15 years ago and have been able to locate a foster family, White Baptist missionaries, who were in Korea, who took me in for a few months to nurse me back to health before returning me to another orphanage. I wish you & your family the best in your search. As an intercountry adoptee, I know first hand the frustration and the heart pain involved in searching for our family of origin. I am open to further dialogue, privately, should you wish to talk further. And, again, my sincere apology for taking so long in replying. junemoon

Thu, 29 Nov 2012 19:16:38 +0000#comment-1840Would you mind my asking what age you were when you were adopted and where in Korea you were born? My sisters and I have been looking for a half sister we just recently found out about. Her birth name was Yu Mi, Eun Hee or Yun Lee (we think); born to a Korean mother and white father around 1955 or 1956. Birth mother was Yong Ae Lee (Lee is the surname and could be spelled Yi or Li). Don’t mean to invade your privacy but one of your posts mentioned searching for your birth family. Feel free to contact me at my email address.
