Ten Books
Initially published on Facebook
I’ve been tagged to list ten books that are my favorites and have influenced me. I’m going to tag 10 people when I finish this. These are in no particular order either.
- All The King’s Men
- The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress
- For Whom The Bell Tolls
- Gun, With Occassional Music
- My War Gone By, I Miss It So
- The Rise and Fall of the Great Powers
- Republic.com
- Practical Demonkeeping
- Guns of August
- God’s Chinese Son
Admittedly it’s 50/50 between the fiction and non-fiction but that’s what I get for being a history kinda guy.
How Not To Get A Job
As seen on a real résumés/cover letter:
“Wholly responsible for two (2) failed financial instutions.”
Slick.
Tim Sandlin has a new book coming out in May. Honey, Don’t looks to be based off of a screen play he’s had available online for a while now. The story was great and I’m looking forward to the novel. This guy’s an amazing writer, perhaps the single greatest influence in my desire to write. Really. All of his works are great.
Christopher Moore’s got a new one too. Another great author who never fails to deliver. Man, it’s gonna be good readin’ this summer.
I’m reading Name the Baby by Mark Cirino. It’s pretty good so far, but I’m only about 50 pages into it, I’ll let you all know how I feel by the end. Premise is nice and the storytelling’s good too. I’ll keep ya posted.
