I’m a mothering writer, therapist, and craft fanatic. This blog was started when I moved from dense urban life in lovely Seattle to the lush wilds of the Lost Coast. It is a dabbling chronicle of my transition.
Born and raised in the Seattle area, I am an entrenched Northwesterner. Much of my adventurous childhood was spent stomping on the decks and in the rigging of a converted shark fishing boat, cruising the waters of Vancouver Island, Puget Sound, the San Juans, and Alaska.
My love of writing forced my hand as far back as I can remember. As a little girl, I kept journals and made books about my fishing exploits, sailing trips, rabbit breeding, craft making, harp playing wildlife watching, and the like.
Both of my parents were in the social welfare field. Dinner conversations in our house centered around sailing and social justice. This milieu quietly laid out a the beginning steps of a path to social work that I have passionately both followed and created.
My home is now in the wilds of Northern California where I work as a high school counselor, writer, consultant, and craft fanatic. Mostly, my real job is being a mom to my two humbling children, Ossian (2.8 yrs) and Nola (8 months). We live and frolic amidst towering trees and the constant rumble of crashing ocean surf.
