The Democrats have all the levers of power at the state level for at least 2 years. A Muslim took her oath of office on the Koran. The Democrats – I prefer to more accurately name them as the Bolsheviks they are – have a statewide majority. Ugh. But, despair not, Virginians. It’ll be a rough go, but we must never, never, never, never quit.
Virginia has 6.4m voters and the Democrats have a 250k vote advantage. That advantage is concentrated in the “Federally-occupied zone” of Northern Virginia, Black rural counties and inner cities. It’s not known how big the cheating is adding illegal aliens, out of state college kids, and paid-for harvested ballots, to same day registration and late mail-ins. Conservatives can govern locally. Conservatives can win state-wide if our turnout is pumped up and the Bolsheviks are deflated.
Virginia isn’t lost electorally until the cheat is completely baked into the vote. Virginia could become a California, Oregon, or Illinois.
Winning either chamber of the General Assembly in 2027 can stop it. Cold.
The last time the Bolsheviks were in full power, 2020, they passed 1k bills. Furthermore, Governor “Blackface” Northam did what he was told and was an unchallenged, petty tyrant during Covid. Yet, Virginia survived. We can endure the damage they do, if they don’t cement institutional concrete into election wins.
Virginians have 3 years to document every election discrepancy and get it to the Federal government and out on social media.
In 2020, the Bolsheviks submitted seven “gun-control” bills. One of them would make about 1.5m Virginians felons, based on the firearms they own, the day it becomes law. One group, the Virginia Citizens Defense League (VCDL), informed The People and got about 40k citizens to demonstrate in Richmond on a bitterly cold day. Then, 125 Virginia city and counties declared themselves 2A Sanctuaries or Observant. The Democrats backed off that bill.
The Bolsheviks are bullies. Bullies always overplay their power. Bullies are really cowards blustering.
Consequently, Virginians can count on the Bolshies crossing some red line in the private lives of normal people. When that line is crossed, the stage is set for another perfect storm, like the one which got Youngkin elected in 2021.
Virginians must be ready to act, especially on social media, to activate the Normies when a real red line is crossed.
Northern Virginia and Tidewater are closely tied to the Federal Government for employment. So, national politics and world events influence voting far more there than across the rest of the Commonwealth. Huge disruptions can happen at any time.
The future can’t be predicted. Yet, “how to respond” to any disruption can be prepared and practiced. The same response to the Bolsheviks’ bullying can be used to respond to a significant international incident.
Virginians must be ready to brand the Bolsheviks with the wrong side of international affairs. The same social media and personal political activism applies.
The Bolshevik policies for every issue will fail. They may even mean well – sincerely – but their answers won’t work. The Democrat solution since the 1930s always makes things worse.
Virginians must document “cause and effect” for the next two years to take it to the voters in the 2027 General Assembly election.
Finally, if we Virginians live our lives as believing Christians and Jews, it will all work out. Focus on the family. Love God with all our heart, mind, strength, and soul. Love others as we love ourselves. Love and laugh.
Virginia is one home for one branch of the English-Speaking Peoples for over 400 years. Virginia isn’t over yet. Virginia is an address, not a home and not a heritage, for at least a third of Virginia voters. Virginia is truly home – including the besotten Bolshevik-voting number of our neighbors – for half of our Commonwealth.
All of Virginia was dedicated to the Lord Jesus Christ at Cape Henry in 1607. Virginians preserved through the frontier, two wars on our soil, occupation, and overseas threats to national survival. Virginians will survive the next two to four years of Bolshevik rule in Richmond.
Every abortion is a bloody mess. Virginia Democrats are making a mess of the Virginia Constitution with a “Right to Reproductive Freedom. They’re determined to make killing a baby in the womb an “individual” right. Abortion, per se, is an abomination to our Virginia Constitution. Additionally, medical procedures which beg governing should be addressed by legislation alone. Finally, the weasel wording is unfit for Virginia’s Constitution
Constitutional Rights. The individual rights listed in the Bill of Rights are God-Given Rights. They’re listed explicitly to limit Government power. Their authority is traceable through British history and Western Civilization thought to the Holy Bible. Their origin in Old and New Testament Scripture makes them Judeo-Christian.
The thread of British history since the Magna Charta limited government, American Enlightenment, and American Revolution, and shaped our idea of Individual Rights as uniquely American. And, it’s specifically American to proclaim our Rights as God-Given. This God is acknowledged in Article I, Bill of Rights, Virginia Constitution citing “our Creator.”
Then, how does abortion square up as a God-Given Right? The Declaration of Independence declares an individual Right to Life as well as Article I of our Virginia Constitution. Life, not death, not killing, is a God-Given Right. Abortion means death. Abortion requires killing. Since there is no God-Given Right to kill babies in the womb, it’s wrong to make killing a Constitutional Amendment.
Constitution vs. Legislation. Abortion is in Chapter 4, Crimes Against the Person, Section 18 of the Code of Virginia. That law allows abortion through the second trimester. Legal restrictions apply in the last trimester. Likewise, the Abortion Amendment proposes “Commonwealth may regulate the provision of abortion care in the third trimester” with a huge loophole. So, why change anything?
A Constitutional Amendment isn’t needed if the law already allows abortion. The Supreme Court reversal of Roe v Wade (Dobbs Decision) appropriately returned abortion as an issue to the states.
At the least, the Abortion Amendment is political ploy because it is harder to change the Virginia Constitution than to change a Virginia law.
More sinister is the abject evil of inserting the ancient pagan murder of innocents among our modern God-Given Rights.
Subject to Judicial Tyranny. The Abortion Amendment is 299 words. The First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution is 45 words. The Second Amendment is 27 words. The Amendment is a word salad. Judges will make up law as they go along interpreting its sloppy language. The weasel wording is a legal free fire zone to do wrong.
There’s no legal definition to “reproductive freedom.” Because it doesn’t exist in law.
How is “abortion care” care? Define that.
Does the right to not be “burdened or infringed” mean pregnancy crisis centers can’t talk to pregnant woman about the alternative to abortion? It’s more than likely a Liberal judge will rule so.
What is postpartum care mean? Is that letting a late-term baby die on a plate?
Current law requires viable life be protected. The amendment makes no such requirement.
Moreover, the same doctors who mutilate and maim children pretending to change their gender can perform a barbaric partial-birth abortion for the “mental health” of the mother.
What does “enforcement” of this right mean? What new power is given to government?
Protection for an “individual aiding and assisting” means Public Schools can persuade and promote abortions – as already seen in Fairfax County. Yet, there’s no provision for parental information, let alone consent. Virginia orders parents out of decisions for children under the age of 18.
The ”clinical standards of care and evidence-based medicine” in the Amendment” beg definition. Afterwards, how will they change over time? Be consumed in controversy? How often will they be as wrong medically as bleeding out “bad humors” was?
Finally, the Amendment itself admits some parts may be Un-Constitutional when it includes a severability clause.
The “fundamental right to reproductive freedom” is fundamentally an unnecessary legal abortion to our Virginia Constitution.
Almost 400 years ago, livery stable owner Thomas Hobson offered customers the choice of the horse in the stall nearest to the door or taking none at all. Obviously, that’s no choice at all. The two Party corruption of American politics leaves the voters no choice at all. At least no choice in cutting spending and stopping the fraud, waste, and abuse. Fixing Federal Government spending is Hobson’s Choice again.
Witness the unbelievably, long-term, widespread corruption in Minnesota. The childcare, adult-care, and other health services scam run by tribal, Muslim Somalian immigrants steals multiple millions of Federal funds. Those Federal tax dollars come from all of America. All of the half of the American People who actually pay federal taxes.
It took a young citizen “journalist” on Social Media to point at the black mold rotting the structure of Minnesota. Anyone who pulls away more diseased drywall will uncover more scandal in immigration fraud, voter fraud, welfare fraud, Social Security/Medicare/Medicaid fraud.
The expanse, enterprise, and expense of the corruption would astound and outrage even the Tammany Hall crooks. They were thieves, but never disloyal to the Country which took them or their ancestors in. New York, Chicago, and Memphis level-corruption never funded foreign, Muslim terrorists.
Many Americans feel a rage which only arises from real betrayal.
All the checks and balance, the accountability, and Rule of Law written into and generally well-lived in the 250 years of the United States of America are absent. Missing. Failed. Actually, corrupted and betrayed.
So, who’s to blame? Who needs justice served?
The Somalian perps. The NGO and government facilitators. The government “watchdogs” with any oversight or accountability responsibility.
Then there’s the one political party who profited the most in donations – the Democrats.
But, here comes the rub. The third ranking Republican in the House, Cong. Tom Emmer is part of the problem. He supported the Muslim Somalian infestation. He was the first chairman of the “Somalia Caucus” in Congress. Astounding. A caucus in the U.S. House of Representatives dedicated to supporting Somalia. In the People’s House. But not to serve the American people who pay taxes, but the people who steal them.
Emmer is making demands now with bloviating bluster.
“Con” media gives Republican Emmer its megaphone to make the issue partisan Democrats-bad, Republicans-good nonsense.
Meanwhile, Republicans in both the House and Senate propose to spend billions more for more refugee services in the next year?
That leaves American tax-paying citizens with Hobson’s Choice in the November election.
Every Republican, except for Kentucky’s Massie, voted for funding the illegal alien invasion. The Biden Administration allowed and encouraged it. But, the Republicans fund it in every budget including the bogus Big Beautiful Bill.
Furthermore, there’s no Republican bill to kill the welfare programs being abused. No bill to stop them at the Federal level and have the States use their Constitutional powers to do as they see fit.
There’s no Republican bill to make the DOGE-discovered cuts other than from USAID.’
And, it’s too late to recruit (which is the hardest part) candidates in the few months left to primary Establishment Republicans in power for the ’26 election.
Since the Democrats are Cultural Marxists and are fully invested in the Socialist-Islamist alliance, patriotic Americans can’t vote for them.
The Republicans are the swayback, hobbled, ribs-showing horse in the stall closest to the door.
It’s Hobson’s Choice again.
The least voters can do is let the Establishment Republicans – including all who cosplay as MAGA mannequins – know how disgusted they are at the gutless, feckless, vision-less and purpose-less, impotent posturing in office.
The better we can do is recruit candidates to replace them. Candidates who will repeal immigration laws and regulations, repeal the welfare state, reform entitlements when repeal is impossible, restrict judicial review, impeach tyrannical judges, cut spending, and provide the means to de-naturalize, deport, deport, and deport illegal aliens.
Create the political pressure for Republicans in office to see their legislative options as a Hobson’s Choice of America First or nothing.
Hobson would be a Republican Congressman or Senator in the U.S. today. Fits perfectly.
Islamist Totalitarian and National Socialist Totalitarian
80 years ago World War 2 ended. The remnants of the generations that lived that war and four 20-year generations of Germans born after the war are (unfairly) burdened with guilt and shame. Germans bear generational guilt for war, mass murder, and genocide because their peers in Western Civilization hold them accountable. Gazans aren’t held to the same standard for their savage, barbaric attack on October 7th, 2023. Gazans should learn generational guilt.
The Germans’ deliberate, industrialized mass murder of millions wasn’t the largest killing in the 20th Century. Communist Soviet Union and China beat National Socialist Germany by many millions.
The Soviet Union ended ignominiously, yet Russia and the remnant states are remembered more for their victimhood in the 20th Century than for their viciousness.
China’s multiple episodes of mass murder, man-made starvation, and oppression in that awful century aren’t even known widely enough to be ignored. The crimes are buried in books too few read.
Perhaps the Leftist Elites in Europe aren’t comfortable shaming their ideological Communist cousins lest like be compared to like. Socialists of every stripe, Labour Parties, Greens, and Democrats are all branches of Human Secularist Totalitarianism. Just like National Socialists (NAZI) and Communists. All trace their ideas back to the worldview of the French Revolution, as well as the convoluted teaching of Hegel, and always proven failures of Marx.
The Leftists pretend Fascism isn’t another fruit of the same rotten tree – which it is – so they can brand Germans with evil and ascribe the same to anyone they oppose. They want to make Fascist the worst evil. That’s why they call Putin and Trump “Fascists”.
Meanwhile, the aftermath of the October 7th atrocities and massacre is Leftist criticism of Israel for their war on the attacker – Hamas. Gaza is granted a guilt-free status.
Gaza Isn’t Innocent. The enormity of the endeavor called the Holocaust meant every adult in Germany knew there were concentration camps. Most knew much more was going on than mere incarceration. Conquering Western Allies made sure all Germans and the world learned what horror happened.
Every adult in tiny, packed 2.1 million Muslim Gaza knows about the October 7th attack. The ruling Hamas crowing was just confirmation bias for the howling rabid crowds cheering the attack.
Savages and Barbarians. Germany’s shame was how far it fell from its perch at the top of Western Civilization in culture, education, and as a nation-state society. Gaza’s plight is the exposition of how barbaric and savage its people are. Gazans can’t protest they “were only following orders”.
Their deeds done bespeak the savagery and barbarism which should earn generational shame.
Different Civilization. Germany is Western Civilization. Gaza is Islamic Civilization. Islamic Civilization is at least 800 years behind Western Civilization. That makes Muslims, relatively, barbarians and savages if they live faithfully under Islam. If they follow Sharia to the letter. Like, cutting off hands for thieves and death for leaving the Muslim religion.
Gaza Gets a Pass. The Left can’t condemn Gaza because in their Cultural Marxist fixed-hierarchy of oppressed groups and oppressors, Islam is oppressed and Western Civilization is the oppressor. So, Gaza and Hamas as Islam and Arabs must be oppressed and Israel and Jews as Western Civilization must be oppressing.
The Ruling Leftist Elites who invited and continue to enable the Muslim invasion of Europe, Canada, and Australia/New Zealand can’t shame Hamas and all Gazans because they collaborate in fear of their Muslim occupiers.
Consequences to Come. The abject failure to fix generational guilt on Gaza encourages Muslims in the West. It legitimizes the rape, murder, arson, and kidnapping of October 7th. It excuses the brutal murder of babies, children, the infirm, and the old.
It makes virtue-signaling, pro-Palestinian keffiyeh scarf ensemble the same as celebrating the concentration camps by wearing SS gear.
The Muslim-NAZI connection fits perfectly. The picture of the Mufti of Jerusalem for life, Mohammed Amin al-Husseini, with SS Chief Himmler in 1943 is two monsters devoted to race-murder.
A highly ostracized, well-shamed Muslim Gaza might inhibit Muslims across Europe from committing more violence, like Germans are shamed today.
If it isn’t so, when European peasantry revolts as a Jacquerie against some final outrage by Muslims and other 3rd World “migrants”, the civil war could make the awful killing of the 20th Century look quaint.
Generational Shame. Hamas and Gaza earned generational shame.
As to the “what about’ism” of the Israeli response, what will the US do when we have our equivalent October 7th? What will our response be if an equivalent 43, 650 Americans are horribly murdered in one day and 9,075 are kidnapped – and half killed in captivity?
What is our guilt for the past 4 generations in the US and UK from bombing German cities? The Allies had less justification than Israel has for killing about 22k Hamas combatants with maybe another 20-25k civilians in collateral deaths. Israel has nothing to be ashamed.
Anyone in Western Civilization who supports Hamas or Gaza should be ashamed. They should be criticized for their allegiance to barbarians and savages. They are aligned to an evil like the NAZIs, but even older and bloodier. They are anathema to Western Civilization. Willful collaborators who are worse than traitors. They are likely to gain their own multi-generational guilt.
Americans have roots. New Americans can plant roots if they assimilate completely.
The Heritage Americans vs Creedal America debate is based on a false dichotomy. As a Nation, we need to sit down and read Sam Huntington’s last book, “Who Are We?”. Read the elements of essential Americanism and how they evolved. There is indeed an “American Creed”. And there are Heritage Americans. But “heritage” isn’t based on lineage. Heritage is based on assimilation. Americanism is a belief and a whole-hearted adoption into an established history – a heritage.
An American believes in the American Creed, assimilates, and accepts America as a common heritage and a personal trust.
A brand-new, thickly-accented naturalized American is as American as any descendant of Jamestown or the Mayflower – legally. Has equal rights and privileges, except ineligible to be President of these United States of America. Equal under the law, but not equal in experience with someone born in America.
Many claims about Heritage Americanism quickly go down to Ethnonationalism, exclusively White or European America, or ridiculous grades of Americanism based on ancestors’ arrival. The arguments are insipid, racist rabbit holes. Don’t go there.
Likewise, the Creedal America claims that every “paper” American is as much an American in every aspect of being an American as those whose families paid the Blood Tax in American wars is provably false.
So, what is fully American and what isn’t?
Creed++. It’s Political. Yes, American identity is political in its shared ideas. All the ideas that define our politics as American count.
English. The language unites Americans. The full heritage of English law, literature, art, music, folklore, customs, and history come as part and parcel.
Religious Symbols. Public symbols, not compulsory worship, of Christianity and to a lesser degree Judaism are American.
Unique Ideology. Equally some foundational ideological precepts apply:
Liberty. Comes from God-given Rights. The God of the King James Bible, even though it’s a Protestant book, is the God of all Christians and Jews. Set aside theological arguments. Understand the nature of the Creator and giver of life and laws – where Christians and Jews use the same sacred writings as foundational to their worldview.
Equality. Equal opportunity and respect took time to include all Americans. The powerful, ascending idea prevailed over prejudices.
Individualism. The emphasis on individual conscience, rights, and responsibility is quintessentially and exceptionally American.
Pluralism and Populism. America’s traditional motto “E Pluribus Unum” tattoos pluralism on our National Seal. Our traditional support for the rights and power of The People – the underdog, the little guy – against privilege and abuse is expressed as populism. Both concepts fueled our Revolution.
Laissez-faire economics. Governments increasingly infringe on the free market to an alarming degree. Dedication to keep our economic freedom among the highest in the world is very American.
War Experience. Every immigrant community which pays the generational blood tax serving in American wars is accepted as American.
Consensus Culture. Sharing what remains of consensus culture in every American institution and every uniquely-defined American cultural artifact are part of American identity. Think music, sports, hot dogs, and the Fourth of July, etc.
Foundational Document. The King James Bible is America’s foundational document. If you don’t know the Bible, you don’t know the American Revolution Biblical Worldview. The worldview for America’s consensus culture until 1962 and for half of the US since then.
The ideas in the Bible about the nature of God and man, about what is right and wrong, family – set all the big, fundamental ideas for society. Christians and Jews share those ideas. Others do not.
Assimilation. A paper American is not fully assimilated until they speak English and accept the ideas of the Bible. They can follow the ideas, even without fully knowing the Bible, if they become Christian or Jewish. A completely assimilated American is Christian, Jewish, or holds the American Revolution Biblical worldview despite their professed religion or its absence.
That means Hindus, Buddhists, most other religions, and the neo-Pagans who call themselves Atheists can contribute as Americans and be very good Americans, as long as they don’t try to implant their worldview in our Judeo-Christian Culture.
Consequently, all immigration must be kept to assimilable numbers.
Problem with Islam. Islam is at war, “Dar al-harb”, with every other religion and culture on the planet. Islam is the enemy of Western Civilization. Anyone who supports Sharia in the U.S. is the declared enemy of the Constitution.
Muslims can be Americans as long as they don’t follow the Koran and Hadith.
Islam should be criminalized as an ideology, not for the backward, barbaric religion and culture it includes. Islam needs to be contained in the world already under Islamic conquest.
Muslims who paid the blood tax, like the Army’s pagan Indian scouts, can live here without America acknowledging their savage religion.
Unspoken Certitude. New Americans and first full generational Americans should learn American manners.
Don’t lecture Americans – especially those ancestors who have multiple generations of service, sacrifice, and loyalty as proven Americans. Regardless of when their first ancestor served in an American war from GWOT to the first Powhatan War, don’t talk down about American history. Or, especially about being American.
Special Note: Don’t lecture folks whose families arrived as immigrants desperate to become Americans and paid an extraordinary price in work and blood to be fully American.
Don’t lecture the folks, White and Black, whose families were on the frontier and made something from nothing. Who survived Indian attacks, a costly Revolution and awful Civil War, disease, volatile elements, and many deprivations to create America.
Especially don’t lecture Southerners. Yankees are foreign enough to test our tolerance already. Southerners have an unspoken certitude about what they will do to defend their homes. Furthermore, the Bible belt across the South girds The People like no other force on Earth can.
Finally, don’t belittle, let alone threaten, Americans’ family, faith, or freedom. Way more than enough Americans share the unspoken certitude that it won’t go well for our enemies.
Looking at my December posts on my blog since 2008 (I started writing op eds as blogposts after 9-11), there are recurring themes. This mid-December I don’t want the usual remembrances to become the same repetitions. Even though the themes remain topical, maybe there are different takeaways to offer. Like, we all know “Die Hard” is a Christmas Movie. So shouldn’t “The Ref” be also?
All kidding aside, the beat goes on and on in December’s themes.
Obviously, the Christian message about the Creator and Sovereign of the Universe sending part of himself to be human and experience his own creation is the hallmark of December.
December is CHRISTmas. CHRISTmas is December.
The birth of Jesus is CHRISTmas. CHRISTmas is Jesus.
Then, add thick layers upon layers of family, decorations, foods, gift-giving, music, movies, two centuries of emotional cultural embrace, work slowdown for most, school break, plus some time off, and rampant commercialization. And personal memories. Milestones for our heart. There’s a lot to Christmas.
The December calendar includes the red-letter dates of December 7th and 16th.
December 7th is Pearl Harbor Day. The Day of Infamy is an annual heads up that America can suffer another deadly surprise attack and should stay prepared to fight. And, that costly intelligence failures happen. September 11th is December 7th’s twin. Different enemies, but similar message. Except, September 11th is Islam’s war against our people, humanity, and Western Civilization.
December 16th is the start of the Battle of the Bulge. I like to remind readers what the greatest battle in American history means. How significant the American soldier and the U.S. Army are to the Nation and the world.
One theme in December writing is the usual: the topical issues. That can be the national politics du jour, the South, Virginia, or recurring commentary about the immigration invasion, Islam’s specific threat, or the Culture War in general.
Some dates stand out, adding more in their definition to December.
December 1st is the birthday of my second and youngest daughter and child – now a grown adult mother of four – Maggie Kyle Buchanan. Also, in 2015 it became the birthday of her second and youngest daughter – Katherine Kyle Buchanan (known as KK).
December 9th, 2013 was the death of my wife of 38.5 years, Nellie Katherine Kyle Bowden. That turning point in the life of our family is a demarcation point in December writing. Posts about grieving and the Lord leading the journey from grieving to gratitude, along with loving remembrances, give her passing a written testimony. Remembering her is part of the Christmas season for our family.
Today, in 2025, is the fifth year where a new date is a demarcation point for my December. In years to come, there’ll be more writing about it. December 14th is the birthday of my wife – wed on July 20th, 2023. This old widower married a widow who is a few weeks younger. Dorothy J. Adams of Putnam County, Georgia shares life and love with me as my wedded wife. Our life together is a new perspective on life.
My wife’s birthday adds more detail and definition to December.
Last year in December I posted a long piece of reflections from my November birthday. I don’t have much to add to those thoughts, except to note our losses this year.
However great the celebration of her good life, my wife’s mother’s passing at age 94 is huge loss for her family and friends. The loss of my nephew and two dear cousins takes another piece of my heart.
America lost two good Christian men within a week of one another. Kirk and Baucham gone from us. Yet, their gain in Christ is far greater than any loss.
Which is, precisely, the promise of December as Christians celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Just the first thousand years of Muslim invasions and conquests.
Immigration becomes invasion differently in the US than in other countries in Western Civilization. Immigration in the US is less a racial issue than cultural. In Europe it’s about culture and ethnicity. Across Western Civilization immigration becomes invasion when the number of immigrants exceeds the capacity or the capability to assimilate them.
Any country that has immigrants cross their borders without permission and against their laws has an illegal alien issue. When the numbers overwhelm the country’s ability to catch and hold those border crossers, it’s an invasion.
Any country that has too many immigrants to fully assimilate them is being invaded, because the immigrants will be a foreign force, as much as any foreign army ever could be.
Any country that imagines un-assimilated foreigners will blend in to create a “multi-cultural” society is too stupid to survive.
No society – from tiniest tribe to greatest civilization – has been “multi-cultural”. They’ve been multi-ethnic, multi-lingual, multi-subservient sub-cultures, and multi-religious within severe limits.
Only one culture, one worldview, rules a culture at a time. Because “Culture Commands”.
Culture sets the stage for everything in a society. Individuals think within the limits of their worldview. Individuals can think new thoughts which change cultures and then, again, the new culture will command.
Any country which has immigrants who can not be assimilated – are incapable of assimilation – is being invaded.
The capacity issue is about numbers. The capability issue is about culture.
Both the U.S. and rest of Western Civilization have a capacity problem.
Western Civilization, except for a few sage and brave countries in Eastern Europe, opens its doors to “asylum” seekers. That generosity is based on the Post World War 2 guilt for the death of millions by the NAZIs.
The millions seeking asylum in Western Civilization seek economic opportunity or simply the social welfare and amenities which far exceed anything available in their crap countries. Even the real refugees from war don’t want to go back to their 3rd World existences when peace comes.
Regardless of their claims, their numbers are an invasion. Western Civilization is rich enough to build luxurious, safe camps for millions upon millions in neighboring countries. That doesn’t happen because the invaders don’t want it and the Ruling Elite traitors to Western Civilization encourage the invasion.
The capacity issue of assimilation differs country by country. In 1924 when the U.S. foreign-born population was 15%, it took 20 years and a World War of national survival to assimilate the immigrants reasonably well after the doors were slammed shut. There are more foreign-born people in the U.S. today than there were in 1924.
Europe and the English-Speaking world outside of the U.S. don’t have our history of immigration. Europe has a history of invasions by people-groups from the Völkerwanderung ending the Roman Empire in the West through the Islamic military invasions which were finally defeated in 1683.
Consequently, after hundreds of years of limited migration from wars across the cockpit of Europe, by the 20th Century Europe had well-defined ethnicities. Not necessarily living in the same nation-state, but clearly understood. All the European ethnicities were “White”.
France opened up to its non-White colonial subjects after World War 1 and the UK did the same after World War 2.
Almost 12% of the French people are of African or mixed race ancestry. The UK is about 7%. The U.S. Black and mixed race population is about 17%. Race isn’t an issue in the U.S., France, and UK except for people who choose to make it so. From any perspective or political persuasion.
That’s not the case in other countries. Other countries are defined by their ethnicity as an essential part of their culture. When they choose to become multi-racial, that changes their culture. The problem is Ruling Elites making the choices and European peasantry living with the consequences.
On the other hand the capability issue is about Islam and some tribal cultures centuries behind Western Civilization.
Islam is incompatible with Western Civilization. Islam is the implacable enemy of Western Civilization.
Muslims can live in Western Civilization only when they don’t live according to the Koran, Hadith, Sunah as they would in Dar al-Islam.
From the invasion of Spain in 711 to the Gates of Vienna in 1683, European rulers fought Muslim invaders. Then, European rulers betrayed Europe. Germany invited Turks in as guest workers in the 1960s. The EU allowed, and now insists on, the full scale invasion since the 1990s.
Western Civilization will survive and thrive when the immigrant invasion is stopped, immigration is severely restricted, millions are remigrated/deported, and the unassimilable are deported or given no options other than assimilation.
Note to Western Civilization: When immigration becomes invasion, stop and repel the invaders.
John Bowden earned his pay in the 4th Virginia Regiment of the Continental Line
In this Part 3 we’ll talk about the modifiers which make our American Revolution so unique. Like American Enlightenment, Dissident Protestant, 4 Regional Sub-Cultures, Well-Armed, and Ancestral Rights. Those modifiers were dropped on July 4th 1776, when they all merged to become simply and profoundly “American”.
Again, look our given statement on our American Revolution: In 1775 after a revolutionary season of 12 years, one third of the Enlightenment Era, Dissident Protestant British people across four regional cultures (in 13 separate Colonies) took up arms to keep the Rights their ancestors won in the previous century.
American Enlightenment
The Cultural Marxists celebrate the Enlightenment as separation of church from the public square and many private consciences. Their spin sit well with scholarship. The French Enlightenment was decidedly, but not exclusively, anti-cleric which meant anti-Roman Catholic in France. The British, including the Scottish, and American Enlightenments were quite different. The Deism of Jefferson and Franklin stood out in the overwhelmingly professing Protestant Christianity of our American Enlightenment.
The Scottish influence, the fierce sweeping Reformation which John Knox brought from Jean Calvin to Scotland, can be traced through the professors, like John Witherspoon. Scottish fingerprints are all over the Constitution.
Dissident Protestant
The dissident Protestants – Puritans, Quakers, German sects, Baptists and reformers within the Reformation – Methodists and Presbyterians shared a Biblical Worldview. They were willing to fight against any power (or be martyred if pacificists) for their freedom to practice their religion. They’d proved their mettle.
Additionally, they tried to live their lives according to written words which they read, discussed, and believed. They challenged any human, hierarchical authority attempting to rule them while submitting to their understanding of Biblical authority.
Their understanding of individual rights, responsibilities, and limited government was powerful. At that time, similar concepts were shared only in Calvinist Sweden, Holland, and Boer South Africa.
5 Regional Sub-Cultures
The 13 Colonies were 98.2% Protestant. But they came from regions and religious sects in the UK which had fought one another in the past. They spoke in different accents, had differences in religion, and other key aspects of culture. It mad them unique then and still different by degrees today.
All others were assimilated into the regional sub-cultures. For example after a generation of settlement by the Highland Scots in the sand hills of North Carolina, a visitor was shocked to hear the black African slaves speaking Gaelic. They assimilated which is different from fixed, diversity salad which Cultural Marxists imagine.
Took Up Arms
Every able-bodied, free man up to age 60 or so as each colony legislated was a member of the “militia”. The militia wasn’t like today’s National Guard created in the 20th Century. Every man was needed if the Indians, French, or Spanish were to attack.
The individual weapons kept over the hearth were as good as what the professional soldiers had. The 3 million people living in America were very well-armed and able with weapons of war.
Ancestral Rights
The British made a breakthrough limiting the power of kings, limiting government, with the Magna Carta in1215. In the 1600s the British people removed their Sovereign three times. We Americans weren’t the first in 1776. We were doing what our ancestors had done before.
Parliament became the supreme legal authority. Not the King.
The Rights of Englishmen, like “No taxation without representation”, were written with the blood of Englishmen. Threatening those rights was fighting words.
In Conclusion
The Biblical worldview of the American Revolution is starkly opposing the Secular worldview of the French Revolution. The ideas of the French Revolution are Human Secularist Totalitarianism.
Cancerous Human Secularist Totalitarianism grew the evolved and twisted ideas of Socialism, Communism, National Socialism, Fascism, Progressivism, Environmental Cultism, and Cultural Marxism. They are all totalitarianisms.
Today, Movement Conservatives believe in the Biblical American Revolution Worldview. We hold these ideas as still ascending concepts. They are as fresh, invigorating, inspiring, bold, and worth fighting for today as they were when the shooting started in 1775.
Unlike the Cultural Marxist cartoon of the 1619 Project or Ken Burns’ videos, our American Revolution isn’t over. It’s just begun.
We have two great totalitarian, world dominating ideologies to defeat as soundly as our British rulers were defeated to keep our Revolution alive: Human Secularist Totalitarianism and Islamist Totalitarianism.
Americans taking on the best military in the world. ^Took courage and weapons.
Our perspective is quite different from the PC, CRT, uber-revisionist view of the Ken Burns PBS series re-imagining the American Revolution. In Part 1 we got the Bottom Line Up Front (BLUF) on what was the American Revolution. Which led to the Biblical Worldview of the American Revolution. That’s a big deal, because it frames everything the Patriots thought when they fought. In this Part 2 we’ll start to parse the “what” of our American Revolution.
Given: In 1775 after a revolutionary season of 12 years, one third of the Enlightenment Era, Dissident Protestant British people across four regional cultures (in 13 separate Colonies) took up arms to keep the Rights their ancestors won in the previous century.
In 1775 after a revolutionary season of 12 years
The date-time stamp and grid location for every human event matters.
Twelve years before 1775 was 1763. The long, bitter French and Indian War ended. Also, known as the Seven Years War it was a war between Britain and France waged across the whole world. The war actually got started in the Colonies by none other than George Washington.
It was very expensive for Britain to send an Army and a Navy to help defend the colonies. Even though the Brits won control of all French possessions east of the Mississippi, King George III ordered his Colonists not to go west of the Appalachian Mountains to keep peace with the Indians. This caused great resentment.
After the war ended in 1763, Britain taxed the 13 colonies without their consent. That’s something all Americans should have learned many times in their k-12 education. The 13 colonies had their own legislatures, yet they were taxed by Parliament in London.
It took 12 years of abuses from Britain to create grievances sufficient to motivate men to take up arms against their sovereign government. To revolt and truly commit treason.
One-third
Only one-third of the colonists were convinced to risk their lives, liberty, and property – literally their very families – taking up arms against the most powerful military on the planet. One-third opposed the revolutionaries. One-third, initially, wanted to be left alone. War doesn’t work that way. War doesn’t allow neutrals to live among combatants.
That revolutionary one-third is a significant number.
It means a brave, committed minority can convince the indecisive to become a majority. Furthermore, it shows how a majority motivated and led by a hard core can overcome as much as one-in-three opposition.
If it “just takes a third” to win, that is good guidance for winning the Great U.S. Culture War. It’s indicative of what a committed one-third can do against the third holding all the levers of power and backed by even more power.
Consequently, today’s Movement Conservatives should recall how long a truly revolutionary season took and how few it took to make it happen and win.
A new revolutionary season to restore, improve, and push forward the Biblical American Revolution Worldview as a governing consensus worldview will take years. And, it requires at least a dedicated, passionate third of Americans.
In Part 3, we’ll get to the next aspects on what was our American Revolution – with keywords like Enlightenment, Dissident Protestant, well-armed, etc.
As “a picture is worth a thousand words”, so this graphic equals seventy-five years. For one life. The graphic isn’t about “Hurrah me”, but this is just me, one life, aging to completion. It is my story on my 75th birthday.
It begins where my ancestors came from over the past 4 centuries. Ancestry.com tracks my DNA back 1,000 years to 13 regions in Northwest Europe . Since we know our family history fairly well, we know the ancestors from 13 regions were settled in different corners of the United Kingdom and France by the 1600s. Then, they went to Virginia.
I feel connected to my past. How much of that connection is oral history, my history nerd affection, or DNA memory – if such a thing exists – I don’t know. But, I know I know my history.
Ancestors brought their culture, their history, and their faith.
According to my DNA, I’m 39% Lowland Scot, Highland Scot (Clan Gunn), Scot-Irish, and Irish. Add 21% Welsh. 18% English for the good name “Bowden” and 15% Western European which we know is French Huguenot. Top it off with 7% Nordic – yes, that’s Viking.
My ancestors passed their culture forward. Oral history was taught at the table. The oldest tale was “Once our Clan fought a big battle and killed many of our enemies. They defended from a house on a hill.” That was it. “It” refers to a battle in 1586 where the Gunns killed 140 men in Highland tribal warfare. The history from the frontier (1760s) forward was told in stories.
Their stories are the tales of humble, hard-working people. I like to imagine yeomen, not peasants. People of devout Evangelical Protestant faith. One original ancestor from France was a Pastor who was going to have his head cut off – because of his Biblical faith. My ancestors didn’t come to America for jobs and wealth. They went out to dangerous uncivilized frontier to be free. Except, of course, John Bowden – who we think was transported as a criminal (our story is sheep thief) from the docket in Kent County, England to well-settled Tidewater Virginia. Or, maybe he was born there in Isle of Wight County in 1717. We aren’t sure where he was born. His 5 boys chose freedom and served in the Revolution. One died. My ancestor was a hard core Patriot in the Continental line.
Family, faith, freedom – the ideas and passion were inherited.
Amelia County and Isle of Wight County, Virginia
All the ancestors went to Virginia. Amelia County and Isle of Wight County. Amelia County was frontier. It matters because they were part of a new culture and place – Virginia. Virginia in the 1600s and 1700s wasn’t Massachusetts, or New York or Pennsylvania – the other major sub-cultures of English-speaking America. They were part of their times, as we all are. So, by the end of the First Great Awakening they were all Baptists or Methodists.
To the frontiers: Upcountry South Carolina and West Tennessee
My father’s family went to the frontier in West Tennessee – Tipton County. Mother’s family went to the frontier in Greenville County, South Carolina. Both big farm families had annual family reunions for decades. Both reunions united the kin of matriarchs who were children during the Recent Unpleasantness (1861-1865). Momma’s SC reunion dissipated away after 70 years. Daddy’s family in Tennessee still meets every October. My Scot-Irish G-Grandmother, born in 1855, created a real Clan.
My cousin, Dr. Henry Bowden, dedicated one of his books to my Father – “Christian-Soldier-Patriarch.” He dedicated another book to my Mother – “With thanks not for what she had but for what she was.” My parents were very much people of their times. My Mother taught life lessons – all the time. My Father gave a few pointed lessons, but mainly he “was.” I dedicated my novel to them and Grandfather Atticus because they taught me about ‘courage’.
My parents had a storybook romantic love all their lives. I’ll be able to bore my grandchildren for years with their stories – living through the Depression, WWII, and from the 40s/50s life with my sisters and me in Europe and where the Army sent us.
I told my Mother on her deathbed that she was the re-incarnation of Jean (John) Calvin. She laughed. My late cousin, Carolyn Smith Todd, said, “There’s a lot of your Daddy in you.” One of the best compliments in my life. Their Christian faith, courage, sense of duty, loyalty, patriotism – and joie de vivre – was such a strong example to me.
All loyal to the Constitution, their States, and the South.
I am a Southerner. A Southerner without the accent, but Southern by heritage, culture and affection. All of my ancestors were loyal to the 1787 US Constitution – the voluntary union of sovereign states. When our worst war came, everyone gave everything they had to defend their Southern homes. One GG-Grandfather was killed. Brothers were killed, died of disease or wounded. My G-Grandmother was deaf for life – from a Yankee war crime. I walked the battlefields with grandfather Atticus and heard stories his Grandfather Holland told him. We have letters. Our oral history is shared memories of courage, fidelity, honor.
Three generations were impoverished by war. Lesson learned: Never lose a war. Also, you can be poor and free – honorable and proud. Family is everything.
I love our culture. It’s home. I believe we are ascending – not as Confederates – but our ideas. As Evangelical Biblical Christians. Our ideas will triumph – and the South will lead the US in winning the US Culture War and the WW IV against the Islamists.
Born in Lawton, Oklahoma
All before shaped so much of me. I was born in Lawton, Oklahoma. My Father’s Army Engineer battalion went to France – and there began my memories of my life. First memories (from age 2!) are a vineyard and wine cellar. Learned baby French as well as English as my first tongue. My Mother said my eyes were a bright blue light.
Army brat, cadet, Officer
I was an Army brat. Went to West Point when I was 17. Proud and True, USMA 1972. The bottom of the barrel class -at the height of the Vietnam War with every qualified candidate accepted. Grew up there. Never let school interfere with my education. Consider my classmates my band of brothers. Served as an Airborne Ranger-qualified Infantry Officer. The patches show the path. Loved being an Infantry Officer. Loved being a soldier. It was my passion. Liked soldiers, being in their company, and comradeship. Liked taking tough challenges and winning. Liked being part of a team. Liked leading – and planning, coordinating and executing. Liked teaching at West Point. Suffered career death. Had a spiritual experience on March 15, 1987 when messaged, by the Lord I believe, that I would not command as I wanted but “You will read and write”.
Education is more than degrees
Got a formal education. Humbled and grateful to go to Harvard. Felt like a kid in a candy store choosing my classes. Most civilized place I’d ever been. Learned how to learn. Taught at West Point and learned the most important lesson in life from my classmates there – daily Bible reading. Went to Columbia for the PhD I didn’t finish – terminal naivete that I could do writing when I went back to troops. Very rigorous work. Harder to get an ‘A’ than Harvard. Learned scholarship from Liberal lions.
Life after Army
In addition to work and family, family, family, the Life After Army included a lot of other reading and writing. Virginia politics and activism, elected party apparatchik and Tea Party guy – which included 6 weeks as a real politician when our Congress lady died. Defense contractor, specializing in “Futures”. Created the tactical concept “Quality of Firsts” for the Army. Incorporated and struck out on my own as President of BowdenHouse Inc. Since 2023 active in MacArthur Society to reform Service Academies. Taught a number of Sunday School classes from 1990 to 2023 – when my last group, the “Young Men’s Class” from 1957, graduated to Heaven. Ordained as Deacon at age 68.
Above it all, American. Loyal to the 1787 US Constitution as written.
Writing
Until 9-11 my volumes of writing were either government property or scraps of paper in piles of personal papers. Wrote my first and best op ed the week after 9-11. Started writing weekly op eds. Carried on a handful of websites until I switched to blog in 2006 to not lose so much time posting. Readership fell drastically. Built up readership on Facebook until I was banned in 2021. Posting now AFNN.us website, my blog Deo Vindice, and on X. Written over 1.5k pieces.
Self-published two books: Christian Sci Fi novel and non-fiction on going from grief to gratitude. Wrote and gave a number of presentations on Culture War and Grassroots Politics.
Family
(Nellie) Katherine Kyle and I married to create a family in 1975. We had 3 children. We were married for 38.5 years when she died suddenly in 2013. The greatest joy, fulfillment, and meaning of my life is being husband, father, and grandfather. I’ve written a lot about this on my blog and in “A Grief Felt”. Our family life wasn’t Hallmark movie idyllic. It was passionate, loving, and full of ups and downs. I believe I poured myself out for my family and still do. I love them unconditionally.
In the 10th year after Katherine’s passing I married the widow Dorothy J. Adams. She doesn’t have children. I’ve got 3 grown adults and 7 grandchildren. I’m grateful beyond my words for our companionship and loving marriage at this short end of the candle.
Last Acts
I downsized after Katherine’s death in the same town to a place whose backyard is The Bay. The Chesapeake. Within a few months I named it “Sanctuary”. It is breathtakingly beautiful outside, comfy inside, and a blessing upon a blessing to me. The Lord God gifted me this place of peace for almost one-sixth of my life. That amazes me and makes me even more grateful.
These icons show much of what I am. Not who I am. Life is about relationships. Not things. The fractures in my family need to be fixed before I die or it will all feel like failure.
These icons don’t show the success and failure I’ve experienced when I was earning the icons of my life. The icons don’t show the times I was knocked to my knees, humiliated, broken, sad, hurting for family or self or others. The icons from my heritage don’t show the decisions I’ve made of my own free will.
These icons don’t show the dark night of the soul – and the bright light of the Eastern Star.
Originally, the icon collage had the Holy Bible behind, supporting, all. In fact, the central relationship in life is I AM – I. Between Creator and created human being. This relationship shapes all relationships. Or its absence does. It didn’t show up well as a graphic, but the Bible is in every day of my life.
The key to relationships is Grace. The unconditional love given to us by God is UNCONDITIONAL. We have a new day, every day from rising to resting, to give unconditional love to others.
The icon story stops with me in Virginia – as an old Papa – and commuting every month to Georgia. But, I feel like I’m 25. I don’t have that physical ability, but I have that passion and drive. I feel that alive.
I’ve committed my life – since I was 16 after my father had his first heart attack – to live a hierarchy of duties. At 17 I swore to live Duty, Honor, Country. And, do whatever must be done for family, faith and freedom. Live and let live. Live the relationships – know the Lord Jesus Christ, Father God and Holy Ghost through Bible study, prayer and worship – with others in abundance.
Laugh often. Sing always. Even when I can’t remember the lyrics.
There are huge challenges for Virginia, The South, America, Western Civilization, and Christendom. They’ll be there for my kids and grandchildren when I’m gone. Sorry I can’t be there to encourage and stand beside in the good fights.
At 75 and counting, may my reading and writing serve our Lord Jesus Christ. May the words help loved ones and others. May the ideas encourage, no matter how slightly, those Willing of our Western Civilization, America, the South, and Virginia for the better.
I hope my iconic symbols speak clearly. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
