Saying Goodbye and Making Memories
This is the last day we shall see our precious grandchildren in our home 🏠 and as we have always seen them for the last 8 years. Every week they came and we filled the house with laughter, crafts, cuddles , swimming, leaf fights, sharing stories, fireside chats and iPad time, cooking, drawing and so many memories. When they would leave to go home it was always under protest but then as they would drive away we’d hear their sweet voices shout from the car all the way down the street “ we love you”. That is a memory forever etched into my heart and soul. When I worked as an auxiliary nurse in a nursing home as a young woman back in the uk I had a sweet patient who seemed to have lost the fight to live. She had in time outlived all those that meant anything to her in this life, her parents, relatives, her husband and her children . She told me not to feel sad for her because she had lived a life full of memories that sustained her and comforted her. Her advice to me was to ma...
