Irene's Daughters

Irene is derived from the Greek word for peace, and our understanding of that word comes from Christ’s example: “For he himself is our peace, who has made us both one and has broken down in his flesh the dividing wall of hostility…that he might create in himself one new man in place of the two, so making peace, and might reconcile us both to God in one body through the cross, thereby killing the hostility.” (Ephesians 2:14-16 ESV)

We are committed to an honest and occasionally confessional discussion of race relations, systemic racism, and prejudice in the United States. While the dialogue may become heated, we are dedicated to a peaceful and ultimately constructive conversation as we explore our understandings together.  We come into this community humbly, with a good sense of humor and, hopefully, a generous helping of grace.
