Hi there,
I’ve just started a blog called The Vegan Bug and have your site on my blogroll. I was hoping you may be able to add my site to your links.

FYI – I blogged about your post on the killing of stray cats over on my blog, here: https://vegtalk.blogspot.com/2008/03/on-killing-stray-cats.html
Hi! I’ve just discovered your blog and hope to catch up on all your articles in time.
I’ve added you to my blog, which I’ve only recently started, I do hope you don’t mind but I couldn’t find a way to contact you first.
I do like the personalised way you write and would love you to take a look at mine at some stage and maybe give your thoughts.
https://decideforyourself.wordpress.com/
I like the way you say “I’ve been told I’m too intense, but I think that just means I care.” I thought I was the only intense person!
Cheers,
Cilla.
Hey Cilla, thanks for adding me to your blog! I’ve added you to mine as well.
Always good to meet more intense people! 😀
Eric Marcus Podcast:
https://www.vegan.com/2008/04/18/bonus-podcast-glass-walls-and-video/
In the wake of the HSUS Chino slaughterhouse investigation, several members of Congress are now calling for video cameras to be installed at slaughterhouses. Naturally, the USDA is dead set against this. Here’s an opportunity to grab ahold of this issue and take advantage of this window of opportunity
It’s unanimously agreed (if veg*an or not) that the animal agriculture industries from factory farms to the arbittior has “fox in the hen house status”. This pending legislation is pivotal on many levels of reasoning: Of course for the welfare of the animals, for “food” safety, and lastly, because
if slaughterhouses had glass walls we would all be vegetarian” Paul McCartney
Video cameras is certainly a step in a better direction for all concerned…. Ahhh…. except for the meat industry that is.
Spreading the word on this would be a great help –
Thanx,
Deb, would you be so kind as to contact me about using your photos for a couple of projects I’m working on?
Thanks!
Eric
Thank you for sharing your views and caring about the animals. I appreciate you for that. A terrific international networking site for people like us can be found here: https://www.CrueltyFree.com
Love is all around you,

Hey there, Deb. Could you send me a quick e-mail when you get a chance? I have a request/invitation. 🙂
Thanks!
Stephanie
Thank you for listing Maple Farm Sanctuary on your sanctuary list! I hope if you are ever in the area that you come visit us!
No problem! I heard about you through tribe of heart, I believe, so you can give them the credit. I’ll definitely visit if I’m ever in the area; visiting sanctuaries has ended up being something of a regular occurrence for me! 🙂
Just commented on your post about the Chicago Diner and will be adding your site to my blogroll. My site is not vegan-specific, but the topic comes up from time to time.
thanks mburgan! link in your site, and I’ll check it out. 🙂
mburgan.wordpress.com is the URL; title is Crisis? What Crisis? Another aging writer, another midlife crisis. Thanks!
Thanks! I’ve enjoyed reading it. 🙂
Hi Deb! My husband, Kaiser, and I volunteered at Poplar Spring last summer before we moved. I wanted to thank you so much for your blogs and beautiful pictures. We miss volunteering so much (especially me – I could do it for the rest of my life and be completely fulfilled).
Anyway, I remember some of the welfare vs. rights conversations we had and I wanted to thank you for not backing down. Our ideas have changed dramatically since we first went vegan, and I can’t believe some of the things I believed. I appreciate that you pointed us in the right direction.
We’re going to be volunteering in a couple weekends, when we visit the area. Hopefully we’ll see you then!
Asma! So good to hear from you! We’d been wondering how your move went, so it will be good to catch up when you’re back in the area. I told Terry today that I’d heard from you!
I’m glad that our conversations were helpful! I think a lot of us go through that when we’re new vegans or newly exploring some of the issues in a deeper way. It took me a few years, so much of it depends on what we’re exposed to.
I have thoroughly enjoyed perusing your blog. Your words are inspiring and your pictures are absolutely gorgeous. I live in Manassas VA and would love to make it out to Poplar one of these days and hopefully start volunteering. Keep up the amazing work.
Kristen, thanks so much! Always nice to hear.
It would be awesome if you could come out and volunteer at Poplar Spring! I go out every weekend now, but there are quite a few people who go out a couple times a month, or just whenever their schedules permit. (Just to say that you don’t have to be able to commit to going every week!)
There’s someone who volunteers on Sundays who is from Manassas, though her dog has been really sick and I’m not sure she’s been out regularly because of that. But I’ll ping her – if it worked out, maybe you’d be able to carpool, since you’re coming from the same area, more or less!
Hi Kristen,
I’m Sheryl and I volunteer at PS on Sundays. Right now, I’m only able to go when I have someone to keep an eye on Mina, who’s undergoing chemotherapy for canine lymphoma (https://missminabean.wordpress.com). I am going out this Sunday, though, because her chemo has been postponed while she recovers from side effects from last week’s drugs. I usually leave around 8 a.m. Drop a line to me at nothoney at gmail.com
s.
Thanks Deb and Sheryl! I look forward to meeting both of you in the near future.
Hey Deb,
I have a personal dilemma I would like to talk to you about. I can’t ask my friends because non of them are vegan and I need a someone who is vegan to help me out with the situation. If you could email me so I can email you that would be great! Thanks!
Hi Deb,
I have been reading your blog for about 8 months now and have recently been reading about the Kofa Mountain Lion Killings. I am a second year law student at Boston College Law School and am interested in writing a memo regarding the legality of these killings. I am hoping to turn this piece into something publishable in a law review/journal. I was not sure how else to contact you or Ron Kearns, but is there anyway you could email me so we discuss this further? Also, is there anyway you could give me Ron Kearns’ email address or at least pass on my information?
Thank you for such a great blog!
Natalie
Natalie,
That sounds fantastic! I’ll let you know what Ron says!
-Deb
Deb & Natalie,
Thanks to both of you.
love the blog! adding you to my roll…
Thanks conradvisionquest!
Hi,
I’m writing to ask for your help with promoting the new Cow Ribbon campaign this Mother’s Day.
The idea of the campaign is to bring attention to all of the mothers of the dairy industry who lose child after child so that humans can take their milk. So many people seem to be unaware of this fact.
We are making available an actual ribbon pin that people can wear on Mother’s Day – a simple way for each of us to start conversations about the dairy industry. The pin is really nice and I hope you’ll at least take a look at it and tell your friends and colleagues about it.
More information about the campaign can be found on the campaign website: https://www.cowribbon.com.
The cow ribbons are available for a $5 minium donation – which goes to support Liberation BC’s work in the Vancouver area. For more information about Liberation BC and our campaigns, visit our website https://www.liberationbc.org. You can also call me at 604-761-4497 or just email me.
I really hope that you can help by writing something about the campaign or even by just sharing it with people you know. Our hope is that the idea will spread and that many people will wear their ribbon on Mother’s Day.
We have also made ecards, downloadable graphics, flyers, and more available on the campaign website (www.cowribbon.com).
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you!
– Glenn

This is a great blog. I became vegan after reading Ninety Five. Whenever I think I might go back I read this blog. Thank you for all the work you do.
Wendy, that’s great to hear, on all levels! Thanks for the comment, it’s always good to hear that we’re having a positive impact. 🙂
Regarding your post on “Exceptionally Lucky” – You might enjoy this video I made with the very same theme. It was certainly made for folks like us! 😉

I finally remembered to go check out the video, but it has been blocked. 😦
HI Deb, Sorrow said this was the best way to get in touch with you. Thank you very much for sending me a PS 2014 calendar. I love it. Thanks, also, for all the work you do on behalf of those who can’t. I hope the barnyard quilt brought in a hefty amount of money to keep the PS services ongoing.
I’m so glad you like the calendar! And thank you so much for your work on and donation of that gorgeous quilt! I have to check in with Terry (co-founder of the sanctuary) to see what the final bid was, but when I checked just an hour into it, there were already several bids! 🙂
