Michel Moushabeck

Michel S. Moushabeck is a writer, editor, publisher, and musician of Palestinian Arab descent. He is the founder of Interlink Publishing, an independent Massachusetts-based publishing house with over 32 years of history. Michel is the author of several books, including Kilimanjaro: A Photographic Journey to the Roof of Africa and Beyond the Storm: A Gulf Crisis Reader. His awards include NYU’s Founder’s Day Award, the Alex Odeh Award, and The Palestinian Heritage Foundation Achievement Award. Michel serves on the boards of the Media Education Foundation and The International Prize for Arabic Fiction (IPAF). A passionate advocate for Arabic music and literature-in-translation, he lectures frequently on these topics. He is also an avid mountain climber, jazz and world music collector, and percussion enthusiast. Michel lives in Leverett, Massachusetts, with his partner Hiltrud Schulz and has three daughters: Leyla, Hannah, and Maha.

Hannah Moushabeck

Hannah has worked in publishing for over a decade at companies such as Chronicle Books, The Quarto Group, and Simon & Schuster. She now co-runs Interlink Publishing, the only Palestinian-owned publisher in the United States, alongside her family. Her debut picture book Homeland: My Father Dreams of Palestine (Chronicle Books) won The New England Book Award and The Arab American Book Award.

Leyla Moushabeck

Leyla Moushabeck is the editor and author of the award-winning The Immigrant Cookbook: Recipes That Make America Great, created in collaboration with 80 prominent immigrant chefs, food writers, and producers. With over 12 years of editing experience—nine of which focus on food and recipe writing—Leyla Moushabeck specializes in exploring food culture, social justice, and underrepresented global cuisines. As Senior Editor at Interlink Publishing Group, Leyla Moushabeck curates the illustrated cookbook list, sourcing talent, acquiring titles, and managing authors and freelancers to meet tight deadlines. Leyla Moushabeck has worked with renowned chefs including Asma Khan, Joudie Kalla, Gennaro Contaldo, Sabrina Ghayour, Durkhanai Ayubi, and Yohanis Gebreyesus. Leyla Moushabeck spearheaded Interlink’s humanitarian cookbook initiative, creating titles like Soup for Syria and Palestine on a Plate, which raise funds and awareness for global causes. Recognized as one of Business Insider’s 2019 “Food 100: The Coolest People in Food and Drink,” Leyla Moushabeck continues to champion the intersection of food and cultural storytelling.
