F-1 Student Requirements
F-1 students are required to study full-time. Please note that you will need to pay for your first full level (two 5-week terms) before classes start.
Student Health Insurance: Travel insurance is not the same as health insurance. INTERLINK requires students who are studying on an F-1 visa and their dependents to have health insurance. Travel insurance is designed for people traveling to cover cancellations, personal belongings and only emergency medical treatment, whereas international health insurance is designed to cover inpatient treatment check-ups and continuing treatment of chronic conditions abroad.
Program Curriculum
INTERLINK offers a rigorous curriculum on the university campus that includes in- and out-of-class assignments, such as group discussion, interviews, library research, community involvement, writing projects, and presentations. Upon successful completion of the INTERLINK program, students demonstrate the following skills:
INTERLINK’s curriculum is rigorous. Its six levels, offered in 5-week sessions, involve in- and out-of class assignments in listening, speaking, reading, writing, and projects which require active student participation. Students enjoy full access to university facilities, including opportunities to meet students and professors, audit or take classes for credit. Of particular benefit to students is the representation of many cultures in the program. In a diverse environment, students learn more about the world, and in the process, about themselves. Upon graduation from INTERLINK’s program, students will receive a certificate which is accepted by UNCG for fulfilling English requirements. No additional test scores are needed.
