Ever since we were young,
We were taught to run.
Crawl, walk, skip, hop
All to learn, how to run.
Even before I knew, there was a finish line created
And a start line. To me, both seemed the same as I
Crawled, walked, hopped, jumped
Across the same circular path.
Each finish became a start, and each pause
Became a new line. Points were made, and
Soon, my path became a loop of endless circles
Dancing, breathing
Heaving.
I learned to run and ran as fast as I could
Even now, I am at my prime. The definition of prime changes, but examples never do.
There is no time to stop and read
Or blink and skip over stones.
I have not seen my feet in so long.
Today, I decided to paint my nails pink.
No one will care and notice them.
But I know, tomorrow in office
I will peek at them below my desk and feel the smile on my lips.
