Welcome to the IEEE Council on Electronic Design Automation

The Council on Electronic Design Automation (CEDA) is the home of a large community of researchers, academics and engineers working on topics related to system and circuit design automation. Our field of interest spans the theory, implementation, and use of design automation tools in all aspects of electronic system design. CEDA engages its user community through multiple networking, educational and professional development activities. These include managing publications, organizing and sponsoring conferences, workshops, technical gatherings and several other volunteer-led events and activities. We organize a set of distinguished lectures in various locations throughout the world, conducted by experts in several topics, as well as in multiple conferences and gatherings. We also sponsor young professionals and students activities at our many sponsored conferences and through our chapters spread worldwide. CEDA promotes and celebrates excellence by presenting awards to individuals and groups in recognition of exceptional achievements or significant contributions in various areas of interest to the community.

The Council has seven member societies, covering a broad set of topics where design automation is an essential central enabling factor, To ensure it is grounded in the major technology activities of the electronic design automation field, the Council has Member Technology Organizations that bring information on the activities and directions of the field as a whole.

As CEDA is an IEEE Technical Council, individuals cannot be members of CEDA itself. However, IEEE members can join IEEE CEDA as participants at no cost and receive newsletters and updates on activities in design automation. Participants can exchange ideas, collaborate on research, participate in educational activities, organize technical gatherings, network with colleagues, and stay current on news and events.
