About me

I am on sabbatical for Oct 2025-Sep 2026 and working at Microsoft UK
(I am still accepting PhD students starting in 2026).

I am an Associate Professor of the School of Computer Science at the University of Birmingham and affiliated to the Institute of Data and Artificial Intelligence (IDAI), and I was the University Turing Fellow of the Alan Turing Institute. Before joining the University of Birmingham, he was a Research Associate at Imperial College London and received his BSc and PhD degrees from Seoul National University. My research interests are focused on human-centred AI, especially in application to human-robot interaction. Computer vision and machine learning including deep learning are my expertise research area.
