Thanks for the review, Hampton. And also for the tip about Clark Pinnock. I look forward to finding that book as well.

[…] “What would you do?” asks Simon Wiesenthal as he finishes the account of his experience in Karl’s hospital room. Forced to hear the confession of Karl’s atrocities against Jews — and his request to be forgiven — Wiesenthal leaves the room without speaking a single word. (For background, see my previous post — here). […]

Hampton – Relationships are also now much more important to me than they used to be. But, I find that Proverbs 27:17 is usually omitted from most relationships, and that is one good reason why genuine friendships do not endure. Few Christians in my experience are willing to “go there”. Marcia

You have opened a door that needed to be opened. I see light coming in a window purer than the dusty air in the room.

In a word (er, two words) — brilliantly said. I hope you’ll be exploring Ephesians 4 in a future post; I think this is the key to understanding unity in Christ that embraces/allows for extremely diverse opinions and practices.

[…] In a previous post I examined Romans 14 and 15, where Paul clearly speaks to disagreements among believers in Rome over questions related to what a Christian should and should not eat and whether observing the Sabbath was mandatory for a Christian. I identified seven points Paul made in his attempt to help the church remain united even in the midst of disagreements. Before proceeding here I recommend you read that post. […]

Comment on Christians and their politics by Peter A Melville

This is a good discussion. I would never bring up such things in a Christian fellowship or at Church for that very reason. On Facebook we have discussion between like minded folks. Most of us have noticed the shift from plain liberal democrat to a very unchristian position. My daughter abandoned her Catholic faith (my first wife was Catholic)in college, all her positions were under attack by the professors. Ted Kennedy was pro like until the 1970’s when went over to pro abortion. etc.
