A number of these have been seized in the last few months, mainly in Bahia state. It appears to be an improvised PA Luty style SMG with the innards dressed up inside an inexpensive spring powered airsoft body. Reportedly chambered in 9mm.
Latest incident involving one: “The team was patrolling an area known as Campo do Milho when they spotted individuals who, upon noticing the police presence, fired at the officers. The agents reacted to the unjustified aggression and, after the confrontation ceased, a man was found lying on the ground. He was taken to the Ernesto Simões Filho Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Found in his possession were a 9mm SMT submachine gun, a .40 caliber pistol with a magazine and 11 rounds of ammunition, a 9mm carbine with 44 rounds of ammunition, two 9mm magazines, and cash.” 37ª CIPM
