Appendix: Settings
General
Settings related to app-wide behaviors.
Launcher
Settings that affect the behavior of the Launcher used to view and open Projects in Nova.
- Show when Nova starts if no projects are open
- If enabled, the Launcher will automatically appear when Nova is launched assuming no other windows are already being opened or reopened.
- Show after the last project window is closed
- If enabled, the Launcher will automatically appear after closing all other open Nova workspaces.
- When opening a folder, add it to projects automatically
- If enabled, opening a local folder in Nova that is not already tied to a Project will add that folder to the Launcher as a Project.
Alerts
- Reset Suppressed Alerts
- If selected, any alerts or prompts that you previously chose not to see again will be permitted to appear.
Privacy
Decide what data Nova is allowed to report back to Panic.
- Send crash reports
- If enabled, Nova will ask you to submit crash reports to Panic when you reopen the app after a crash. These reports are anonymized unless you opt to include your name or email address. You can also decline to send a report even if this option is enabled.
- Send anonymous usage statistics
- Determines whether anonymous usage data are sent to Panic. Read a clear, simple explanation of exactly what is sent - and why - on our website.
- Check for important announcements
- If enabled, Panic may show alerts when you first open Nova with important news or updates regarding Nova.
Software Updates
Nova has support for built-in automatic software updates.
- Automatically keep Nova up to date
- If enabled, updates will be downloaded in the background while you work, as they become available. You will be prompted to relaunch Nova when an update is ready to be installed.
- Check for Updates
- If selected, Nova will check for any available updates. If automatic updates are disabled, Nova will not check unless you manually click this button, or check for updates in the Nova menu > About Nova.
- Notify me of new versions after my license has expired
- If enabled, Nova will continue to alert you of new updates, even if your license for Nova is ineligible for further updates.
- Beta Updates
- Opt-in to receiving beta builds of Nova as automatic updates, when available.
Extensions
Settings related to installing or developing Nova extensions.
- Automatically keep my extensions up to date
- Allow Nova to automatically update extensions to the latest version available in the Extension Gallery.
- Show extension development items in the Extensions Menu
