Heather Blakey is a writer and scholar based in Western Australia. Her work examines intersections between technology, intimacy, and the environment in video games, literature, and virtual worlds. 

I research intimacy, storytelling, and aesthetics in video games. I publish fiction and poetry that explores the zany, the rebellious, and the sexy in the everyday. I write as a literary critic for various journals.

I am excited by posthuman and queer approaches to art and art-making. I have been recognised in various awards for my writing and teaching. I co-host the game studies podcast Meaningful Play.
