Words cannot fully express how grateful I am to the HBCU Library Alliance for the part you played in assisting the Eva B. Dykes Library and University Archives to preserve and share Oakwood University’s rich history with our students, faculty, staff, and community. Our archives was a recipient of the Photographic Preservation Grant from the HBCU Library Alliance with the Mellon Foundation. Being a member of the HBCU Library Alliance helps our library and archives preserve historical records, build leadership skills, and gives us a voice and a seat at the table.”

Our membership in the HBCU Library Alliance has connected us to a dynamic network of deans and directors from other HBCU libraries. This network has been an indispensable resource facilitating the exchange of ideas, sharing of information, and offering mutual support. The collaborative environment fostered by the Alliance has empowered us to address common challenges and pursue shared goals with renewed vigor.
