About
The title of this blog is meant to echo James Joyce’s Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man, and perhaps it should complete the reference. Poincare pointed out that a good mathematician should “experience in his work the same impression as an artist,” and the analogy has been used by many mathematicians through the ages.
I’m an undergraduate student highly interested in diverse areas of mathematics — from combinatorics to algebraic geometry to quantum groups — and I hope that this blog helps me learn more about these subjects, and (if I’m lucky) perhaps gives you a starting point as well.
