Hi! I'm a Postdoc at Stanford AI Lab & Genentech, with Jure Leskovec & Aviv Regev.
I did a CS PhD at Cambridge in 3 years with Joan Lasenby, and was valedictorian in Physics at Nanjing.
I worked in finance, interned at tech firms & biotech startups.
After much other fun, I believe & build AI for Science.

[25.05--] Invited talks at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, Stanford Graph Learning Workshop, Broad Institute of Harvard and MIT, Weill Cornell Medicine, UC Berkeley, AAAI, Stanford, Penn, Danaher, UCLA, Roche, 10x Genomics, Nature Publishing Group, Tsinghua, Yale, NIH / NCI, Harvard, Syndey and so on. [25.05] Co-host these talented interns at Regev Lab, Genentech: Sessen D. Iohannes (CSHL Biology), Chang Ma (HKU CS), Namkyeong Lee (KAIST CS), Ziyu Lu (Rockefeller Biology), Jordan Rossen (Harvard Epidemiology), Shuvom Sadhuka (MIT CSAIL). [25.02] Guest lecture at Stanford Bio 114, on LLM Agents and Biological Discovery. [25.02] I help advise a few UROP students from UC Berkeley and UCSF at Peng He Lab. [24.11] I'm in Manhattan all November, working w/ Prescient Design & Flatiron Health. Meanwhile, I visited Yale and Princeton, gave talks on `AI Agent x Spatial Biology`. [24.09] I host Serena (w/ Kexin) to work on agents at Jure’s Group, Stanford AI Lab. [24.08] I've been selected for Chan Zuckerberg Initiative Faculty Applicant Bootcamp, and UCSF Gladstone Institute's Trainee-to-Tenure Track Program. [24.07] I've received support from OpenAI via its researcher program. I'll use this prize / donation to explore the potential of LLMs in scientific discovery. [24.05] At Regev Lab, Genentech this summer, I host Yichun (with Paula) & Chenyu (with Masa). We're working on LLM agents & discrete diffusion models. [24.04] Our work uses Drifting Cell Islands to reveal potential limitations of scIB, the gold standard for data integration and foundation models in cell biology. Check it out! [23.08] I joined Jure & Aviv on a 3-year fellowship. I ONLY applied this ONE position after a 3-year PhD with Joan at Cambridge, with 1st-author Nature & NeurIPS papers. |
