My Maternal Grandmother, Margaret Williams and her father, Owen Williams, are buried in St. Michael’s church cemetery in Garston, Liverpool, England. In the image below, you can see the Gravestone with the Anglican style Church behind (on the right side of the image). Two miles away there is another Gravestone in a similar orientation in the cemetery grounds of St. Peter’s church in Woolton, Liverpool. This is the quite famous gravestone of an “Eleanor Rigby” of the Beatles fame. Many have speculated that the Young Quarry Men likely played in this vicinity, although I recall that Paul has never claimed that this gravestone was ever involved in the creation of the song. So I feel that it is a pure coincidence. I recently re-discovered this image of my Grandmother’s gravestone and was struck by the coincidental similarity of the image to that of Eleanor’s.
