About us

About Hands On Pro!

Hands On Pro!, now in its third year, is a professional development and skill sharing project devised by the Sex Worker Open University and X:Talk, two sex workers’ cooperatives based in London. The workshops offer a chance to gain (and share) skills and to meet other sex workers.

Hands On Pro! consists of a series of weekly workshops aimed at sex workers wanting to learn or develop relevant skills. In Oct-Nov 2015, we’re offering short courses and workshops in massage, marketing, BDSM, self defence, taxes, make up, photo editing, and website development.

Hands On Pro! is open to anyone who does sex work, and to all genders, ethnicities and abilities. The classes aim to be a safe and confidential space where sex workers can learn new skills and meet peers.

About Xtalk and SWOU

The x:talk project is a space to organise and empower workers in the sex industry and to encourage critical interventions around the issues of MIGRATION, GENDER and LABOUR. We provide free english classes for migrant sex workers.

The Sex Worker Open University is also a workers cooperative led by sex workers. We have organised many skill sharing workshops, activist and academic panels as well as cultural events such as London’s first ever Sex Worker Film Festival and several art exhibitions! We are currently running Public Education workshop on Stigma and Sex Work.
