About
An Exploration of the Dionysian
I have another, more serious blog -about politics. Kind of a grave and heavy subject. The more Apollonian of my two blogs, if you will.
This is an attempt to vent and write freely the way I used to be able to do there before I subjected myself to shackles and chains of my own making. Interestingly, this is proving a more difficult task than I had thought.
Some of the labels/tags I will be posting under include: madness, wonder, play, and la vie.
Go figure.
Oh, almost forgot. A word of caution to the moralist and the faint of heart: I will be aggressively proselytizing hedonism here.

A word about the header image:
On the left is a segment of a miniature painting by the Persian miniaturist Ostad Farshjian. To the right is a segment of Titian’s Bacchus and Ariadne.

good
Wow. Amazing site. And I have no idea (yet) what it’s about. 🙂
Peace.
This blog has distracted me from my coursework in the best way possible.
I absolutely love your blog! Wonderful work 🙂
Hi Hamesha, your blog is really nice, I’ll come back again for sure.
I am an artist and found your image, “OnThe Road (Kabul, Winter 2008.”
I adore it, and plan to do a painting that is based on a narrow, long section of your image. I would credit you as the photographer whose photo is the basis for my painting. May I have permission to do the painting?
On my Website, https://www.zibbet.com/Egilpatr you will see that I have other paintings based on Afghan photos and they indicate the source.
I love your work.
Sincerely,
Eleanor
Ahmad Javaid Zeerak (aka Hamesha) whose photo “On The Road (Kabul, Winter 2008). is the basis for a painting I did, was an Afghan citizen, had studied International Political Economy and Political Philosophy in the United States; and served as a consultant for the Rural Enterprise Development Programme Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development. He was one of the key persons to conceive of it; and was the Chief Executive Director of the program. I discovered, after a search, that, on July 9, 2010, Javaid and a collogue drowned in the Panjshir river. Javaid was known for his commitment to his people, his passion towards enterprise development, his eloquence, and his leadership style. Javaid had a Flicker account called “From Afghanistan With Love,” under the name Hamesa, and a blog; that is where his photos were on display. When I could not reach him to get permission to use his photo as a basis for this painting, I started a search, and learned this tragic news. My heart is broken.
