Family-run for two generations and counting, Halcyon Yarn is dedicated to fostering community through a shared love of natural, sustainable fibers and the traditional arts of weaving, dyeing, spinning, and knitting. From the small coastal city of Bath, Maine, our yarn shop happily provides supplies and inspiration to fiber artists around the world.

About Halcyon Yarn

Founded in 1971 by Halcyon Blake and Hector Jaeger, Halcyon Yarn is a second-generation family-run business, now owned by Gretchen Jaeger (Halcyon’s daughter) and Rachel Fowler. For more than fifty years, we’ve stayed true to our belief that making things with our hands and creating things with purpose are what make the fiber arts a tradition worth passing down. Our yarn store is more than a business, it’s a vehicle for creativity and positive social change. The following principles and priorities guide everything we do:
