Hey, I’m Hadley. I’m a digital accessibility specialist and amateur entomologist.
As a digital accessibility specialist, I help make websites and applications that disabled people can use. My goal is to ensure substantive access, giving reference but not deference to technical standards. My favorite projects involve design systems, Linux esoterica, and reducing the sum total of PDFs in the world.
As an amateur entomologist, I identify beetles. I focus on the Cantharidae, Oedemeridae, Pyrochroidae, Stenotrachelidae, and Lymexylidae as they occur in North America. You can find me on iNaturalist and BugGuide.
I have a bachelor’s in computer science with a concentration in linguistics from Grinnell College. I also hold the Certified Professional in Web Accessibility and Accessible Document Specialist certifications.
