Really? Is this the best way to pick 'em?
I've been trying super hard to research all sides to every candidate (demo or repub), but I'm so flipping frustrated with the Presidential Race... good grief! And I'm really confused with the way church folk select a president. Why is Huckabee liked all of a sudden? Just because he talks Jesus and wears a pastor's hat? So that alone should make every other believing American jump on board and not bother to look into his politics? Wake up. And Romney, who has done some impressive stuff is ignored because he's Mormon?! We're picking a PRESIDENT not a PASTOR. A POLITICAL LEADER not a MINISTER. Now, I'm only using the two of them as an example for the problem I see in the way Christians are picking a leader. Way too quick to label and jump to conclusions. Here's an interesting quote to ponder:
"To discriminate against a thoroughly upright citizen because he belongs to some particular church, or because, like Abraham Lincoln, he has not avowed his allegiance to any church, is an outrage against the liberty of conscience, which is one of the foundations of American life." from Roosevelt's letter on religious liberty.
